Usually in Yokohama the elders would tell many kinds of stories to the children who gathered in a circle in front of a large bonfire. From those mouths, so stingy and full of ignorance, certainly no bedtime stories came out. But the kids could only hear stories where there was violence... The children were scared, but in there everything worked that way for everyone. So, they met there every night to talk about these exploits.
Among the many narrated, the best known was the battle between Tokyo and Kyoto. It told of a distant, remote place... A world where no one had the opportunity to speak, except the leaders. But all this was hidden from the human world. Nobody knew where that place was. Despite this, it has been handed down for years that it actually existed. Unfortunately, however, there is no material evidence.
It all began when in the immense solitude, there was a man dressed in shadows. Some villagers said he was a craftsman, others said he was a poorly paid farmer. They described him as a pale and slightly stooped man. But the characteristic that made him stand out among the others were his clear eyes that sparkled, like when glass is capable of packaging crystal crime.
People came to him everyday, asking him to help them stop their torment. You will probably ask how is it possible that such a miserable man could help people. The answer is that he had an inexplicable gift from life. He was special unlike other citizens, because he could see and destroy the curses created by people's conflicting emotions - because in human bodies lies love, anger and the burning desire for something. At least these were the main ones...
And so the man from Tokyo satisfied them...
With movements of his arms or with incomprehensible sentences he was able to get rid of any type of curse. And immediately afterwards people were crying feeling the resentment, anger, anguish and pain. After these phases they returned to normal though. The man saw the most intimate and exhausting feelings in his life, but also the purest ones. He always said the same thing to everyone before he could help someone.
«Remember: you can't lie to someone that can see your soul».
Anyway, the battle began to escalate. The people of Kyoto wanted that man dead. For them he could have caused an imbalance in their world. The population of Tokyo instead didn't agree to that, and so it began a strong and bloody battle between Kyoto and Tokyo.
The man had to run away from the battle in a moment. His fate was different, and he couldn't change it. He ran up to a mountain, and when he was to the top he began to practice a curse. The curse should have ended on one of the many women in the village. She had to be the purest, the most beautiful and the bravest one.
Then, after finishing, he ran to Tokyo's aid, fighting for his homeland. In the end he died, but it was not a defeat. Tokyo won and Kyoto retreated. Everything returned to normal. The women and children were safe, some men died but many didn't, thanks to the man's help. A statue was built for him in the center of the capital, Tokyo.
Many years later, the population began to develop and with this many creations were born. The villages no longer existed, and the technological age began.
Then one day, the chosen one that was cursed by the man became pregnant with a child, without knowing how. Everyone talked about her and called her with names, until the baby was born. It was shocking because the child had blue eyes that could only be the ones that the man had in the statue. There were celebrations and many parties afterwards, all without Kyoto's knowledge. The man's descendant continued to help people, continuing the lineage.
«so... it is possible that the man has been reincarnated again now ...» one of the elders said.
«Well, kids. Now you can go back to your families... but remember just one thing: you shouldn't use your emotions in a bad way, but always in a good one. Okay?» the old man said.
«Yes! We will» kids said.
«Good. Now go!».
And this was the usual elders lesson that was told to teach every child that feelings can break a person's purity. For them, being emotional was not in their nature. But for Geto... For him it wasn't like that. For him those legends were just a waste of time. He was not dressed in shadows. He wasn't pale and hunched over. He didn't have glass-clear eyes either. He was what he wanted to be, but in that city he couldn't.
He knows that when he will become older, he'll go somewhere else to study and get rid of those bullshits. Or maybe not...
