A/n - I have changed the story from the original a lot more than I thought, when i went back and looked, but it has most of the main plot points so far.
Your Pov:
The moon was bright tonight, and the army seemed to stop during the day, more or less accomodating the fact I could not be in the sun. I hated the sun, so I chose to sleep during the day, unlike most of the other vampires.

We finally reached my lair. I walk slowly to the entrance, saving my strength. Guren and Shinya on my right and left side respectively. The lights were on, everything could be see, each of the small houses. All of them the same, bleak, made of the rubble of an event that should not have happened. "Kayla?" I shout, my voice a bit shaky.
A small child runs out of one of the small huts, and hugs my legs. "Mommy!" She calls, her smile ever so bright. I smile down to her. "Gather all the children by the fountain for me sweetie." I state, my voice soft. Guren looks at me, cautious. Kayla runs off and gathers her two older brothers, and they both start running through the city, gathering everyone and leading them to the fountain.
"What did you do to these children?" Guren states, his anger boiling. I just smile to him, walking slowly and following the winding path until we reach the fountain. All the children were either sat or standing. "Guess what I have brought back for all of you." Kayla comes over to hold my hand, and I sit in the middle of them all. "Hey mom, who are these men?" One of the older children, Kyle questions me. I look to him, but I could not keep the frown that graced my lips. "Soldiers. They are here to bring you to where the humans are. Before that, lets all eat a meal." I stand up, and walk over to the car, that held a range of tinned foods and preservable snacks. I make a small fire, and start heating up some of the tins, handing a bowl to every single child. "Mommy, what if I don't wanna leave?" Kayla was so young, this change would be drastic, and probably not much better to what they had to face in Sanguinem. The Vampire Capital.
Guren and Shinya sit, and eat with all of us. Some of the children sing, others dance. "Y/n, do we have to leave?" Kyle stood there, his gaze almost piercing. "Why not as the two grumpy idiots over there. I am sure I will not be allowed to come back here again, after all I am their enemy." I whisper to him, and he nods, gathering the children in a small circle on the other side of the fountain.
"What are they doing?" Shinya questions, his silver hair swishing softly with the gentle breeze. "More importantly, why are there bright places filled with flowers, and others that are dark?" Guren turns to Shinya and I could see the confusion written in their eyes. "I am not what you call a normal vampire. I am close to becoming a demon, yet I wanted to create a safe haven for these children, after all, I was a child once too, even if I could no longer remember." I start, my smile grows wider "To answer that first question, The children are having a meeting. for your question guren, I built this place for the children, we find flowers and crops, get the seeds and harvest them here. They need plenty of food, and some soil is still usbale. I guard this city, as I can hold off most vampires, sometimes the children will come to me with a small cut, and that is how i've been able to keep my strength, and my demon counterpart at bay." I stand and walk over to the children, whispering to some of them and we all run.
we laugh, run, dance, sing and just have a good time.

"Its time commander" One of the officers say to Guren, and Shinya and Guren round up all the children and put them in a wagon, and we all get taken back. Ikebukero, looked the same as it always did.
We stopped, the sun was bright, the sky a vibrant hue of blue. I got out of the car, and for the first time I stood under the sun. "this bracelet really does work then." I state, looking down to my wrist, the small silver bracelet glints ever so slightly, but it is the reason I can stand under the sun. I smile taking in the surroundings. rows and rows of buildings, some tall, some short, yet all of them had vines and greenery covering most of it, the ruins of what once was probbaly a prosperious city.
