5 years later...

Omniscient pov.

Much has changed in the short five years that seemed to fly by.

Melody endured a long hard recovery.

With her family alongside her, she was able to get through the ups and downs, the harsh nights, and her many moments of weakness.

Life was hard as one would assume, she was forced to make a decision to fall back into old ways or persevere through it all.

She chose the latter.

Through intense therapy, her brothers being by her side, he loving husband, and her child's love she was able to overcome it all.

Oh. yeah. Husband..

D and M.

The was the lettering engraved upon the wedding ring.

They tied the knot about a year or so after the incident. D knew deep down inside he couldn't see himself living without her, he said it himself.

* June 24, The wedding day*

"Lord knows what we have been through, All of us." he spoke his eyes venturing off into the sea of people who would have come out the help celebrate this day.

In the crowd, he saw his family, his friends.

Though not many, the venue held the most important people in both their lives. Snapping his gaze from them his eyes landed upon his breathtakingly gorgeous bride.

Cupping her hands in his he continued, tears slipping from his eyes.

"You know I've never been the best with words ma, but what you do know is I love you with all my heart."

"I never saw myself doing all this" He dropped her hand for a brief moment as he motioned all around him.

"You changed me in the best way a man can be changed. You showed me real authentic love. You are my clam in a store. you are the best part of my day. You are the apple of my eye, the air in my lungs, my backbone."

His hand moved towards her face whipping away her tears.

"You are my better half, my rib. my soul mate. my first and last love."

"Above all you are my home melody. you are my salvation."

"I can't imagine a better person for our son to call his mother. I couldn't imagine a better person to spend the rest of my life with."

"Your words are sweet as pie, your touch, soft as the morning air. You are the only one I want to wake up to for the rest of my life."

"You are truly indescribable, a woman sent from the most high indeed."

"You are worth more than all that I have said, and sense actions speak louder than that of words i vow to showcase them to you every day."
