Chapter 19 - Need a title

Virat went to Rohit's room and found him hunched over silently crying.

He asked about what happened and got to know about everything. But Rohit abruptly asked "How and when are you going to confess to Anu?"

"Huh what? Look at you, how can I think about my love life when my best friend and sister are going through such huge crisis?" Virat said bewildered.

"Virat I am sure we'll be fine. I really am, but I want Anu and you to be together and happy too you know. You guys are my whole heart." Rohit said smiling through his tears.

Virat was truly overwhelmed "I love you so much Ro, I don't know how I was surviving all these years before meeting you." he said, his voice heavy with emotion.

"Vi why are you being so emotional." Rohit said hugging him "Now tell me what's the plan fast, because I know you have something in mind." he said and Virat shook his head in exasperation.

"How do you always know everything?" he said laughing "So................................." he narrated everything he had in mind (What did you guys think? Obvio you aren't gonna get to know what it is rn)

"Wow I am impressed Vi, I didn't know you could think so much." Rohit said impressed and chuckled on getting a smack from Virat.

"Come out now, Nush has ordered food for us." Virat said and Rohit let out a content sigh "Thank god for her, or else you would have ordered some rubbish." he said.

"You guys are already teaming up on me." Virat whined making Rohit laugh "Now you know how I feel when you and Ritsy-" his laughter died in his throat immediately and he was reminded of all the beautiful memories which were giving him nothing but pain right now.

Virat noticed that and shook Rohit out of his stupor "Everything will be alright Ro don't worry, we love you." he said squeezing Rohit's hand in order to give him reassurance.

They came in the dining hall to see Anushka talking to someone on the phone "Yeah ok take care darling!" She said on the phone.

Rohit and Virat shared a glance and Virat frowned. Before any one of them could say something Anushka noticed them.

"Virat Ritsy has reached home, she called on your phone twice. You were not here so i picked up the call." Anushka said to Virat but looking at Rohit.

Virat sighed in relief and Rohit chuckled. "Thanks for telling me Anu. I know you were telling me and I appreciate you informing me about her safety."

Rohit was relieved to know that Ritika was safe. They sat and had dinner.

After dinner

"Vi you go and drop her, I'll go sleep." Rohit said in a dad tone and walked off.

Virat dropped Anushka at her doorstep "Come inside na Vi." Anushka said.

"No I'll have to pass Nush I am sorry, Ro is at home alone I hope you understand." Virat said his eyes pleading.

Anushka smiled softly and hugged him "Obviously Vi I understand, it's me who's going to understand you forever." She mumbled in the hug.

Virat thought about how these hugs from Anushka were quickly becoming his favorite thing. "I know thank you." Virat said.

Unknown to them they had already accepted each other as partners, supporting and loving each other.

Anushka pulled back and placed a soft kiss on Virat's nose "Good night Vi, take care of Ro and yourself too." She said as Virat turned back to go.

Next day in the ball

Rohit and Virat went together and Ritika and Anushka were supposed to directly meet them at the venue. Now the boys were waiting for the girls in matching tuxedos.

Anushka came wearing a purple gown and Virat's mouth was left hanging. She came and stood in front of him and there still was no response from him. Rohit stubbed his toe with with his boot to bring him back to this world.

"You look really pretty Anu." Rohit said smiling at her "So do you Rohit." Anushka said reciprocating the smile. Then she looked over at Virat and raked her eyes on him as whole, from top to toe.

When both of their eyes locked, they started at the same time "Vi-" "Nush-" and Rohit burst out laughing "Oh my god you guys are being so typical right now." he said taking shallow breaths between laughs.

Both Anushka and Virat turned towards him to glare at him but seeing him laughing so carelessly and happily after the last two days felt like a warm ray of sunshine after a thunderstorm.

Rohit was caught off guard after noticing them looking at him "What are you guys looking at me like that for?" he asked "Like what?" asked Anushka.

"Like I am a kid laughing for the first time and it is so precious." Rohit said confused and Virat threw a hand over his shoulder and said "Because it IS precious to us, right Nush?" Virat asked her throwing a hand over her shoulder pulling her close too.

"Obviously." Anushka said putting her hand on his waist and Rohit rolled his eyes "You guys are so cringe." he said but he was smiling, grateful.

 You guys forgot me or what?" came a voice from behind and they turned to see Ritika standing there in a red gown and Rohit also was in the same condition as Virat.

Ritika looked at Rohit and blurted out immediately like a silly girl in love which is how she always feels around Rohit "You look so hot." and clamped her mouth shut immediately.

Rohit was brought out of his stupor on hearing that and he got flustered "Um yeah- uh- thanks uh you look gorgeous too." he blurted out.

"Let's get inside if you guys are done with who can be more awkward competition." Virat said and Anushka immediately said "Yeah we are the new couple and they are behaving like one."

Virat's eyes widened comically and he looked towards Anushka, whose hands went flying to her mouth as if she could take the words back by sheer force of will.

"Why doesn't your mouth have a filter Anushka?" she mumbled to herself "I'll um I'll go in." she said and hurried off inside and Virat followed him when Rohit pushed him saying "Stop or else your eye balls will fall off their sockets." 

After Virat and Anushka went inside Rohit stopped Ritika and said "I need to be clear about something with you."
