"NO, those are good. Don't make them any thinner."
The chopping of carrots fills the kitchen again, jazz music playing somewhere in the background from Taehyung's phone. Swimming in golden light, the apartment is filled with glittery sunlight pushing through the blinds.
"I'm good, right?" Taehyung asks Bomin, gushes about his skill to cut perfectly proportioned carrot sticks.
"So talented." she hums while mixing the garlic sauce for their vegetable sticks, giggles as her sous-chef puffs his chest proudly.
They're just regular sticks and a regular little snack but he makes it so much more. The way he insisted on helping. The way he wanted to know exactly how she wanted them to be cut. He wants to be good for her, perfect, just like she is.
And it's been going on for a month and a half already, has convinced her it isn't an act he keeps up and it really is him. The flowers he always brings confirm it. The sun has been shining for a while now, has dried the puddles, shooed the rainy clouds away. It's getting colder though, December already, but Bomin has a warm flame in her chest, fluttering and flickering, reminding her she doesn't have to keep herself warm alone anymore.
Leaving the spoon in the sauce bowl for a moment, Bomin slides to Taehyung, hands on his left shoulder as she tiptoes to kiss his cheek, "So, so talented."
"Not as talented as you." he whispers, matches her warm tone. Turning his head towards her, a quick glance down at her lips is enough for him to be convinced. Convinced that her kiss is all he needs. Softly pressing his against hers, their lips fit perfectly together.
Bomin smiles against him, doesn't want to let go but doesn't want her sauce to get all runny and ruined either before they even get to taste it.
"The sauce is ready." she hums, opens his eyes to his beautiful ones, his long and dark eyelashes guarding them, "Are your carrots?"
"Yup." he pops his lips, invites Bomin to peck them one more time before leaving his side.
"I have a surprise for you." she says, glances back at him with a grin as she heads to the fridge, "Remember what we talked about on our first date?"
Pouring the carrot sticks on to a plate, Taehyung exhales, "Uhh... Hm. We talked about a lot of things."
"Food-related." Bomin helps him while standing by the fridge, hand resting on the handle.
Taehyung takes the knife and cutting board to the sink to wash them, makes sure the kitchen is just as clean as it was when he came here, "Food-related?" he glances at her with a frown.
