"Please welcome RedBull Racing Formula One driver Chanel Leclerc!"
Chanel receives a quick kiss from Mick before she walks up the steps to Graham Norton's iconic red sofa, smiling and waving at the crowd as she receives a hug and a kiss on either cheek from Graham himself.
Sitting beside the one and only Taylor Swift, the blonde superstar gave her a quick hug and squeeze of the hand, the American somehow knowing Chanel was quite nervous about her first talk show. Chanel smiled with gratitude, the two girls rising out of their seats to welcome the next two guests before they could all get comfortable.
"This is quite the mixup today, two very talented, gorgeous girls, and then Eddie and Bono." Graham jokes, causing a burst of laughter in the crowd.
Chanel sat quietly for a few minutes as Graham spoke to Taylor and Bono about all things music, sipping her wine on the table. Her wrist was clad in a bracelet Mick had made her when they were back in Texas, the beads spelling out his name, a bracelet he made to give her only the best of luck.
"Coming over to you, Chanel, lovely to finally see and have you here. Now I just want to talk about you two women for a moment, you're both in completely separate fields of career, but you both share that same... criticism?"
"I think that might be the right word to use, but you're both working in rather predominantly male careers, what's that like?"
"I think maybe for me it's a little easier, you know, there's a lot of great women out there in the music industry who y'know, have had that criticism and took it on the chin." Taylor begins.
"And what about F1?"
"I'm hoping not to step on any landmines here, but F1 criticism is at a much larger capacity in my personal opinion. Being the only girl racing, being the only girl actually scoring points, winning races, there's going to be criticism everywhere I turn." Chanel begins.
"Last year I thought I hit rock bottom with all that criticism, y'know, people finding out I was dating a fellow driver, my first year as a rookie, kinda felt like one huge weight had been slammed on my shoulders."
