"I got Mercedes!"
Chanel's head snapped up from where she was sitting on the sofa, turning a little as Mick slid across their wooden floors to get to where she was. His smile was rejuvenating to see, and it made it all the better that he was smiling because he finally got a seat somewhere that wasn't HAAS.
"I know you did, I was there when you signed the contract." Chanel laughs quietly as he wraps his arms around her shoulders and presses a soft kiss to her lips.
"I know, and so does everyone else." He grins, again, and it made her fall even more in love with him.
The Mercedes v RedBull saga ended long after the Mercedes team had realised they weren't ready to go up against the 2021 champion in 2022. Lewis was losing all trust in his team, and George was just happy to be racing.
Mick being their reserve strengthened the team again, and although they might not be able to catch the RB19 just yet, they were working toward that with every ounce of hope. There was a lot of concern in regard to Mick and Chanel, being on rival teams, and there had been a few rules put into place for the upcoming race season.
Mick wasn't allowed to wear RedBull gear, Chanel wasn't allowed to wear Mercedes gear, and the biggest one of all, they weren't allowed in either team's garages. Christian had even gone as far as to say Mick wasn't allowed in the RedBull hospitality before or after races, but Chanel had convinced him to let that one slide.
