STEFAN'S POV
I missed her.
God, I missed her, and it hurt so fucking bad.
But if she wanted a break from me, I had to understand.
I hurt her. I hurt her. I hurt her. She needs a break from me.
"Elena," I said in greeting once I saw her come out of the dressing room. Memories of yesterday after filming came in my mind immediately, and I watched them flash in her eyes as well.
"Stefan," she said, smiling. Smiling that beautiful smile.
We walked in sync onto set. Our footsteps were in time, our breaths at the same pace, and the way we held ourselves even twinned. We were perfect for each other, like two pieces of a puzzle-
Stop it, Stefan.
I blinked for a little too long, a couple of seconds extra, before looking over at her. Her head swiveled in my direction too, and she gave me a tilted grin. "What?"
I think I'm in love with you.
I just shook my head.
"Hurry up, you two." Enzo shoved us onto the set for the scene, which was the couch. Books scattered the floor and the coffee table. Pages and pencils were surrounding where we sat on the sofa.
This was the scene where Paul admitted to loving Nina. After everything that happened and all the tears between them, he finally realized how long he had loved her.
"Get in positions. Ready?"
I was anything but ready.
"Three, two, one... action."
ACTION
I picked up a book and pretended to read it. Elena lay her head on my lap, and I ran my hands through her hair.
She looked up at me, her pretty mouth curving into her signature smile. "Isn't this nice?"
I hummed in response, my eyes glued to her lips as my fingers ran through her silky hair. How could hair possibly be this soft?
Her eyes closed, the grin still playing on her lips. She was so goddamn beautiful.
I pretended to read the book, but all I could think about was her. The way she felt on my lap. The beauty of her face. The feeling of her hair in my hands. Her smile. Her lips. Her eyes.
"Nina," I said softly. Elena's eyes opened immediately.
God, I could get lost in them.
"Yes, Paul?" The words rolled off her tongue like silk rolled through your fingers.
I - or, as I should say, my character - hesitated. I wet my lips, taking a deep breath.
"What is it? Are you going to make me wait forever?" She teased.
"I'm in love with you," I said.
Her eyes immediately softened. Her lips parted slightly in shock, her entire facial expression morphing into surprise. She lifted her head from my lap to look me in the eyes.
"Are you sure?" She whispered.
"Am I sure?" I chuckled, my eyes locked on her lips. "As much as I am that the Earth rotates around the sun. As sure as I am that I'm breathing right now. Actually, that's not a great comparison, because I've been holding my breath since-"
And then she kissed me. She kissed me and oxygen reintroduced itself to my lungs.
She was my oxygen.
She was the reason I was alive.
