Ivy was saying goodbye to her work colleagues as she wouldn't see them in a while before leaving to go pack. This was her last shift and she only had five minutes left
As I was printing the bill for one of the tables I could feel eyes staring at me, I looked around me when I clocked my friends at the reception near the kitchen pouting at me. I looked over confused until one of them eyed the clock and I realised she clocked I had less than five minutes left, I smiled at her said goodbye to the family of four leaving the cafe and headed over to them.
"Im gonna miss you so much Ivy, please keep in touch" she said while hugging me, I leaned back and smiled at her while agreeing that I would keep in touch and left to go to the back. I knocked on the door hearing a come in and opened the door to my boss.
"My shifts done, I'm just saying bye before I finish packing all my stuff up to go," I said while coming to sit down waiting for my work money I earned for this month.
"Oh I'm glad you did" exhaling before starting again.
"It's gonna be weird without you here Ivy, I'm so used to coming in the door seeing you talking to the customers" she said while handing my money over in a envelope and went to give me a hug but stopped. "Well hopefully you'll come have some brekky when you come back, on the house next time"
" of course I will" I said before giving her a hug and starting to walk away before tearing up in front of my whole work family. I grabbed my stuff, gave my colleges one last hug before sprinting out the door.
You see something about me is I've never liked seeing my family stressed or upset so when I heard pops talking about how we needed money or the bailiffs we're gonna be knocking on the door any minute, I immediately went job hunting to find us some extra cash for the family. When I found this place I had been turned down so much I lost hope however I walked out of that caffe with a new job and money coming in very quickly.
When I got home I packed my bag in some jaggedly arse duffel bag I found in the attic and started putting my clothes in it. I went downstairs to go so bye to my little brother and my pops before leaving to meet up with heims.
'This little rat' I thought when he didn't answer, proabbly at the chicken shop. Running down the stairs to say goodbye to my little brother.
"Yo where's pops" I said to my brother while giving a him a huge hug.
"Hes-"
"I'm right here" my pops said behind me. I turned around and smiled while giving him a hug."I'm gonna go pops before I start crying" I said looking down at my feet. He stuck his finger under my chin and leaned down to give me a kiss on my forehead.
"I'm right here mi Gallina, I'm not going no where. You need me you call me you understand"
" I know pops I know"
"Good now get your arse over to the bus before it leaves without you and oh don't be fooling around with any boys that don't deserve you V you know your better then to do that" he said while opening the door. I laughed while saying bye to the both of them and started walking to the chicken shop.
