Being in Slytherin was already a struggle. You were going to head to class with Draco but the moment you heard him talking about Harry Potter you had a change of heart. Rather than walking with him you found yourself waiting to walk with Blaise and a girl named Pansy. The day you first walked to class with them was the first day of potions.
"So why didn't you walk with Malfoy again? I mean I was sure you'd want to." Blaise questioned. You sighed in response. "Draco had an issue with someone on the train and was like, super bothered by something they said. Now he wont stop talking about it. I'm sure he'll get over it soon though."
Pansy shrugged. "He doesn't seem like the type to just 'get over' something." Blaise nodded in agreement. "Well, it is what it is. I hope he gets over it. Who do we have potions with again today?"
Pansy thinks for a moment before answering. "The Gryffindors I think." Immediately you deflate. "This class is going to be rough." Both of your friends give you a look but dont push for an explanation. 'Draco just makes fun of him the entire time. It's so exhausting.'
You talk with them for the rest of the walk to class to potions which isn't far. The feeling of the cold air in the dungeon made you shiver. 'At least it's hoodie weather. As soon as class is over I'm getting cozy.'
During the first class with Snape you hadn't had enough energy to listen to his long speech after he called names. That was until he decided to pick on Harry. Immediately you perked up to listen to what was going on.
"Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" You looked toward Draco who was next to you mocking Harry. You planned on sitting next to Blaise as he had asked but Draco had dragged you along to sit with him. You gave Blaise a sorrowful look. He mouthed a sorry and you rolled your eyes.
You were sure that no one in class knew the answer to the question but a bushy haired girl with brown eyes near Harry had her hand raised high.
'He is not calling on her is he?' You sighed.
"I don't know, sir," said Harry. Snape's smile seemed to mock him. "Tut, tut – clearly fame isn't everything." You deadpan. 'What is Snape's problem? We are literally in class to learn this. I don't think a single person but that one girl knows this.'
"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?" The girl from before raises her hand. The class is silent as Snape stares Harry down. You hear Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle laugh. You give them a quick frustrated sideways glance you're sure they didn't see.
Harry's eyes met yours briefly and you sent him a pitiful look. You mouth a quick you got this, getting a quick almost unnoticeable blink in your direction back.
"I don't know, sir." Harry says. You huff. 'Snape is never gonna let that go. What point is he proving anyways.' "Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming, eh, Potter?" Harry seemed to stare through Snape. 'Even if he did there's no way he'd remember all of it.' You thought.
"What's the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?" 'He's still going?' You rubbed your temples. You took notice that the girl from earlier was now standing with her hand up.
"I don't know," Harry replied quietly. "I think Hermione does, though, why don't you try her?" You chuckled along with a few others.
"Sit down," he snapped at Hermione. "For your information, Potter, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plane which also goes by the name of aconite. Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"
