Batgirl was either at lunch or not paying attention in class because I got a message in the early afternoon from her. Attached was a screenshot of a call transcript. The body of her text was just a string of exclamation points.
I read it and called Jason straight away.
"Hey. Office hours are pretty quiet today so I have some time to talk, but if a student comes in, I have to go."
"We got a tip. Batgirl just sent it over!"
That captured Jason's attention.
"I sent it to you. It looks good. It could also be a trap, but it's so enticing," I said.
The thought that Morgaine could use the tips against us had obviously come to mind. At least we could enter a situation alert. And if Merlin waited around the block as backup, we were sure to come out ahead, right?
Jason was quiet for a moment as he read it, then I heard him typing on his keyboard.
"I just cancelled office hours for the rest of the day and they don't really need their quizzes graded by class tomorrow, right?" he said. "Grab Troia for this one. Bring a sword—not Excalibur—and Carnwennan. I'll meet you in the Cave as soon as I can."
"Should I call Merlin?" I asked.
"Yes. Tell him to portal to the Cave, too. We'll go from there. I'll call another guest."
Before I could ask any follow up questions, Jason had hung up. I looped in Merlin, then shoved my phone in my pocket and made my way to the training room, where Troia was. She had invited me to work out with her, but I was sore from yesterday and after some stretching, I had wandered off to the library to read some of the books Jason had provided.
"We got a tip," I called as I burst through the open door of the training room.
Troia placed her weights on the ground, causing the floor trembled slightly, and focused on me, ready for more information.
