Summer break was down to its last week and Mauve couldn't be more excited.Yes. Excited.
For once in a long time Mauve was ready for school to start. She was ready for the boys, mean girls, cliques, and the work.
She wasn't stressing about all the school work. She was ready for it and more than confident that this year was going to be the year she was finally proud of her grades again. She was confident about it.
Of course she owes a big chunk of her confidence boost to the one and only Eli Moskowitz.
Eli is the reason she was able to skip summer school and take a less embarrassing way out of having to repeat freshman year. He tutored her the whole summer. 4 hours, 5 times a week, for 12 weeks.
That's a lot of studying, which mauve found extremely irritating. But she is grateful for those long hours of tutoring because now she actually knows what the hell her teacher was trying to teach her for those 180 days.
Eli really worked wonders.
Right now mauve isn't worried about school though. Right now she was destroying her best friend's wardrobe because she doesn't know what to wear.
"Ok. What if I wear this skirt with this top?" The raven haired girl pulls the outfit out from Charlottes closet. She holds it up to her body as the brown skin girl lets out a sigh and stops applying her mascara to look at her younger friend through the mirror of her vanity.
Charlotte looked the outfit mauve held up and down before coming to a conclusion, "The skirts cute but doesn't really match the shirt." As she finishes her sentence she goes back to leaning into her vanity mirror and finishing her lashes.
"Ughh!" Mauve throws herself and the clothes she had in her hands onto her best friend's bed adding on to the already large pile of clothes that lays there. "I don't know what to wearrr-uhh." Her whine was muffled by Charlottes suede lavender sheets.
Charlotte, now done with her makeup, turned around in her vanity chair to stare at Mauve, "We're literally just hanging out with a few friends it doesn't matter what you wear." She gets up from her seat and starts searching through her drawers for something Mauve could wear.
The girl lifts herself up from the pile of clothes and sits criss cross in an open spot on the bed watching her friend move around in her room with a pout planted on her lips.
She grabs the stuffed penguin that was staring into her soul and hugs it tightly to her chest "I need to dress to impress."
Charlotte chuckles glancing back at her friend with an eyebrow raised "Since when do you care about impressing anyone?" Mauve sighs now playing with the little feet of the stuffed penguin. "Since Cam and I started dating." She said as she avoided looking at her friend.
Campbell Marsh and Mauve have been dating for over a month. He's one of her older brother, Masons, oldest and closest friends so it wasn't unusual for him to be around her house often especially in the summer. However, this summer he started treating differently. Like as if he was noticing her as someone else and not just his best friend's little sister.
At the start of the summer Mauve didn't think much of it when he would start conversations with her when her brother wasn't around or when he would invite her to join him and Mason and their friends plans. She was just too caught up with Eli.
But Eli never took the hints. She spent more time during the first month trying to flirt with him then actually worrying about getting her work done. She didn't want to seem desperate.
