Chapter 1

"What the hell is this?!"

"O-orange j-juice po, Miss Brittany," the maid quivered on her feet.

Brittany was supposed to be in her class in St. Catherine Academy kung saan lahat ng mga elite student na kagaya niya ay obligadong tumira sa tinatawag nilang Trinity's Haven, a giant building composed of 50 floors and a luxurious pent house. It's located at the very center of the said school.

"You are not paid to be worthless! Di ba sabi ko tubig!?" she grunted in her most horrific tone. Ngayon niya mas pinagsisihan kung bakit dumalaw pa sya sa mansyon, but skipping class and breaking one of the million rules of her school is far more interesting than listening to her old stinky prof.

If not for the maid's unfortunate family ay malamang hindi nito gugustuhing pagsilbihan siya.

Despite the growing fear, the servant felt the sudden urge to defend herself kaya sinubukan nitong magsalita. But Brittany was so full of herself that she wouldn't accept any reasons.

"A-akala ko po kas--"

"Shut up!" she cut her off immediately. "You're so stupid that you'll probably have a space on Guinness for having the smallest brain on earth! Simpleng tubig lang hindi mo pa makuha!" bulyaw niya.

She hates people who are more stupid than the lead characters of Dumb and the Dumber to.

"What's happening here? And what the heck are you doing here, Brittany? Di ba dapat nasa school ka? You're not allowed to go outside of the academy!" Don Menandro, her father, asked out of nowhere.

Even at his golden age one could probably think that he's still in his late 30's. He was a heartthrob during his time kaya marami pa rin ang nagkakagusto rito.

She grabbed the glass filled with orange juice and slammed it on the floor. The sound of its shattered pieces echoed all over the place.

"Pagkatapos mong linisin ang kalat you're free to walk out of this house. Hindi ka nababagay sa mansyong 'to. You're fired!" singhal niya bago tinalikuran ang kawawang katulong.

"That's enough! Stop being such a brat, Britanny!"

"I can do whatever I want, old man!" she hurled back. No one can stop her but her dearest mom who passed away few years ago.

"Watch your mouth, young lady! Pay some respect!"

The maid wished that someone would just grab her out of the scene. They're unbelievable.

Britanny stopped and glanced at her father with so much hate. "Respect? The last time I checked matagal ko ng binaon sa hukay ang respetong sinasabi mo. Too bad, old man."

°°°

I roamed around inside the mini stores building looking for Jessy, my friend since time immemorial. That's right. Evils can also have friends.

I was about to head outside when I saw her looking so stupid at the left corner of the cheap cafe. We both have our scheduled classes but she asked me to accompany her in which I don't have a choice.

She's one of my considered friends bukod pa kay Steph, Andrew at Matt na hindi ko alam kung saang lungga nagtatago nang mga oras na yun. They must be dealing with their boring teachers again.

Kung susuriin kami isa isa, people can probably attest to the court na pwede rin pa lang maging magkaibigan ang mga asal anghel at ang mga mukha lang anghel na katulad ko.

Unfortunately, I found myself getting close to them back when we were kids at kahit hanggang ngayon na marami nang nagbago. Sometimes life is so fucking unpredictable.

Agad akong umupo kaharap ng upuan niya and called out the waiter para om-order ng kape. The look on her face was telling me to just back off bago pa ito magkalat sa buong lugar. I shouldn't have come in the first place.

If there's one thing that I detest so much about her yun ay ang pagiging emotional nito na madalas wala sa lugar.

"Bree.."

"Bree, what? I'm still in the process of cooling myself down, kaya kung ayaw mong sa'yo mapunta lahat ng residue huwag mo akong artehan," mataray kong sagot.

"We broke up," she said, ignoring my words. "He dumped me! Can you believe that?!"

"Buti naman at natauhan na ang malignong yun," baliwala kong sagot. "If I were that guy, I would probably do the same thing without thinking twice."

"How could you, Bree!" she snapped, looking so hurt and all. Oh, please!

"What? May mali ba sa sinabi ko? Hindi ko alam na may sequel pa pala ang katangan mo noon. Ano 'to? Version 2.0?" I rolled my eyes. "Stop being so overly dramatic. Yan ang napapala mo sa kakabili ng mga libro na puro kalandian lang ang laman. Besides, you can't love someone you just met at the bar two weeks ago. Patagal nang patagal, pagaga ka naman nang pagaga! Ba't di mo ipunin lahat ng mga taong tanga sa pagibig at mag rally kayo sa Edsa!"

"It wasn't my fault if I loved him at first sight!" she reasoned out. "Be a friend, Bree. I don't need your bitchy side right now."

"Hindi kaibigan ang kailangan mo. Kailangan mong magpasagasa para matauhan ka, gaga! You know me. Sugar coating is not my thing. When I tell you you're stupid for making a fool out of yourself, then it's 200% true na tatanga tanga ka."

"Ang sama mo!"

I smirked. "Tell me something I don't know."
