In this small town you find out pretty quickly that nothing grasps your attention. The people, the culture, the place are all as mediocre as it gets in England. It's always dull, everyone in Britain knows it. And in my town, everyone keeps themselves to themselves.

The only thing good about the town Light-more is that it's by the coast, a cold and wet coast, but a coast nonetheless. And with my family owning a dock I was told all my life that it would one day be mine and I'd be spending my entire life working there... great.

Little did I know, she had bigger plans for me.

"Sam! Wake up now." A seething roar which I loved to wake up to.

Rubbing my eyes and moaning at the thought of going to college on another cold wet Monday. So fun. I grab my usual worn out converse, baggie jeans and simple hoodie and shove them on. It was obvious when you looked at me I was warped by British bands. The usual oasis, stone roses act.

I drag my feet downstairs to be greeted by my mum with a cup of tea in her hand and an unpleasant disappointed look on her face as she taps her foot.

"What time do you call this Sam?" Her veins popping out of her head. You have to love an angry British mother in the morning. I sigh and shrug, not saying a word. It still feels too early.

She gives me another disappointed "hmm" and a glare before letting me off the hook. Luckily for me, my best friend Luke was always late too, and to no avail he was walking out of his house at the exact same time as me.

"You alright Sam" he says grinning with a thumbs up.

"Take it you got scowled at too, ay?" I chuckle

He nods with a "you know it" look on his face.

Without having to say anything we automatically walk to college together, we do this everyday and we know what to do already. We don't have to make plans anymore we do everything so often. Same old, we always say.

College was the same as always, we work, grab a drink from the shop, work some more, grab lunch and then work again before going home. Nothing changes, like I say.

This day was exactly the same except that night, everything changed.
