After dragging my feet beneath me home, I feel as discombobulated as ever. I must have looked pretty shaken up and I was lost for words.

Her long ashy blonde hair, her doll like face, and those stunning dark brown eyes... they kept replaying in my head. Over and over. I couldn't think of anything else, and in that moment nothing else mattered but her.

Although her presence unnerved me, I couldn't help but feel some force bringing us together. Because of this, the danger of the situation was a small and insignificant speck in my mind that was overpowered by her face. I didn't care what those men wanted, all that mattered was her. Complete and utterly smitten.

As I get to the front of my porch before the steps, Luke called out to me.

"Sam!?" His voice sounding concerned and almost shocked that I'm ok.

I turn to look at him, eyes wide. A smile forming on either sides of my mouth and without saying a word I walked inside.

The next day I couldn't go to college, all that was in my mind was seeing her again. I told my mum I was sick and I had planned to sneak out as soon as it turned dark. I wasn't going to miss this.

For hours I sat in my bed, just staring at the ceiling thinking of her. She was like a virus pumping through my veins. I couldn't think of anything else. And as soon as I saw the sun setting I sat and watched. Already dressed and ready to meet her again.

The pink sky turned grey, and then a dark blue, not long before a dark black. This is it.

I opened my window stepping out onto the large ledge beneath it, climbing down the houses exterior. Heart racing, I knew exactly where to go. She had picked my favourite spot.

The trail was windy and dark, but all the sense of fear had floated away knowing what was at the end. I pushed through twigs and leaves speeding up the closer I was getting. It was like a drug, an addict racing to get their next dose.

As I emerge from the trees I see the water glistening beneath the moonlight, and on the corner of the lake, there she stood. Waiting. Her long hair blowing in the wind looking out at the glistening water.

"I can see why you like this spot Sam." She says, back still turned.

"Who are you?" I ask

She turns and looks at me, that beautiful smile on her face. My knees weakening.

"I need to know I can trust you." She says, stepping towards me slowly.

My ability to speak slipping away from me as I see her move closer.

"Please tell me I can trust you." Her tone sad now, scared almost. Making me want to protect her.

"You can trust me, I'll do anything." I say.

Her face changed from the soft sadness to a smile. As she circles me again, giggling in my ear as she does so.

What is this woman doing to me, I've never felt this way before. I need her, more than I've ever needed anyone.

"My name is amber." She says softly, grabbing both my hands and staring at me with her eyes, the same twinkle from which I saw yesterday.

"How did you know my name?" I ask.

"Because Sam... you're special." She says "I see greatness in your heart and I need it with me." Her tone switches to pleading.

Is she pleading for me? What does she mean I am special? But none of these questions mattered in that moment. Being with her was enough.

"Tell me you'll be with me Sam" her eyes looking up at me as she nestles into my chest.

"I'll be with you Amber." I say. I feel the need to protect her, care for her. What does she see in me? The small town guy. A guy who just goes to college and lives with his mum. But I didn't want to ruin the chance I have however, I decided I had to take charge.

As hard as it was, I needed to know more.

"What happened the other night? Who are you?" She pulls away from me, an angry look on her face.

"Why are you questioning me Sam? Am I not good enough for you?" She snaps.

I look at her, I want to tell her everything she wants to hear but I feel as though standing my ground is what needed to be done.

"Be forward with me Amber, what do you want?" I demand.

Her face goes from the seductive damsel in distress, to an astonished look. And her seductive tone disappears.

"You really are different Sam, I didn't believe it at first but you've surprised me and that's very hard to do." She chuckles.

I am confused. Why is Amber now acting so different. And then it hits me. This is a prank. A long haul Luke had planned to set me up. And it was working to! So I decide to go along with it.

"Of course I'm different, I'm not like the rest Amber." I say confidently.

She smirks "I didn't know you knew so much Sam." She continues... "I thought I'd have to explain and do some convincing." A relief laugh exhales from her.

Still playing a long I say "Of course I understand, no need to explain." I say, thinking we are talking about the prank.

"Brilliant!" She says, slapping her hands together "Let's get going then?"

"Yep let's go." I say, thinking this means the prank is over. As I turn to travel back through the woods. Amber grabs my arm and pulls me into the air.

My heart skipping a beat as I see her carry me to what seemed like 100ft in the air. This can't be real. She looks at me and smiles before what I could only assume as flying. My face draining of all blood that once nestled there. The shit I get myself into.

She carries me over the trees and past the forest, before a giant castle enters my view. What the fuck.
