chapter three - vengeful spirit
[season one, episode three]
THE BLONDE WALKED BESIDE THE two brothers, the wind blowing through her soft blonde curls. As the lonely, grieving man came into view, her stomach churned with sadness as she remembered how much he had lost. The smell of the lake lingered in the air, the saltiness invading her senses. She let out a small sigh as they approached the Carlton man.
"Mr Carlton?" Sam asked softly, his hands in his pockets as his pace slowed, "We'd like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind."
"We're from the department—" Dean started, however, he was interrupted by Bill.
"I don't care who you're with." His voice was broken, and Kinsey could easily tell he'd been crying almost non-stop purely just from his voice, "I've answered enough questions today."
Kinsey bit at her lip, pity burning in her stomach as she looked at the mourning man. He was miserable — and rightfully so.
"Your son said he saw something in that lake." Sam continued, pausing for a response.
"Have you seen anything?" Kinsey continued after a moment of silence. She felt bad for the man, sure, but they needed answers, and they weren't getting them.
