I finally woke up, and I was laying in bed. I stood up and my head was covered in white bandages. I checked the calendar and it said July 7. I was confused, why didn't the fireworks wake me up? I heard voices of a million people all of sudden. And I checked outside of my room. And there was a group of people in the house. One specifically got my attention, she looked exactly like the picture of the person my mom said was my grandma. she was wearing a long black dress with huge white pearls. Then I saw her shining more than ever, my dear mother.
"Mom it was terrible those men came in and pushed me then my love was trying to protect me and hit himself in the counter. I landed in a glass vase and so I had stitches done."
"What about the children?"
"Thomas was fine hiding in his room. But. But."
She started crying, and grandmas hugged her.
Thomas came and hugged her. "It's okay mommy. Brother got hurt badly and doctors came in to fix him but he stay sleeping all this time. He will wake up soon. The doctor promised me." He smiled and went to greet other people in the room.
"Oh my darling daughter. Did you see anything?"
"No. I saw the results and I wished it was me and not him. My innocent and sweet boy."
It hurts me to see my mother so upset. She's so kind and caring, and this was not caused by a bandit, it was the man. He should be punished. But he wasn't in our house, most likely. I don't understand why someone so good, gets punished so bad. Mother doesn't deserve this, not at all. All the people in the room concerned me, I haven't been around that many people in a long time. So I decided to stay in the room, and just lay in bed.
Talking and talking, why aren't they leaving. Ticking and ticking, the clock wouldn't stop. I just wanted to see someone, someone to talk to, I felt so alone in a house full of people. Strangers who probably don't even know how I look like, or sound like, in my house. So there was no reason for I to be there. My mother would have told me to greet them by now. After time and all the ticking, the door opened just a bit. I was scared and jumped off the bed, that somehow I managed to have not mess up yet. Then peaked to see, that Thomas has come in. I jumped up with joy and Thomas smiled when he saw me, then we ran to each other and hugged. "Brother oh you had us so worried! You got really hurt and daddy almost said you'd be a goner." I patted him in the back and replied, "well I'm here right now and I can't even feel any pain. I see all these bandages, but I feel like a shiny penny." Thomas laughed and giggled, "all these people came to celebrate you! I think because you survived such a terrible accident, but mommy promised it will NEVER EVER happen again." I peaked out the crack in the door and stared at the few people leaving, all matching as if it was planned. But to think people would come celebrate me. I felt amazing, and satisfied. "Brother! I also have bad news. Daddy said if you wake up you're never leaving this room again, for safe tea. I never drank that tea but if it keeps you safe!" I laughed at his silliness and told him, "I think he meant safety, as in being safe from the outside. In here alone again." I sat down in the corner of the bed once again disappointed, because life went back to how it was before.Even though being in one place seemed bad, Thomas said he'll be bringing me food everyday, three times a day, and come to play, and even bring me candy. So with the bad, comes the good.
