As I walk in first period I instantly get happier when I see Ella. She's made school so much easier and actually enjoyable.

We give each other a hug and sit down.

"So how bad was he last night?"

"What did he do?"

I shake my head

We both laugh together until we stop once we see Tiffany walking in. when she sees me she immediately puts her head down ashamed. Obviously I was pissed at her but she doesn't seem that bad.

Math class starts and as my teacher is talking all I can think is that it's too early for this.
I tilt my head down a little bit to escape the bright lights, hoping to catch a quick moment of rest.

The teacher, Mr. Lawrence, notices my tiredness and decides to single me out, thinking I'm not paying attention. He starts bombarding me with math questions, one after another.
"Luna, what's the square root of 144?" he asks.

I quickly answer kinda rudely "12"

Is that not obvious? this is high school not elementary.

"Oh so you think your a math genius now?"

"No sorry I didn't mean to sound rude I just thought it was a simple question"

"Well if my questions are to simple for you then let's see if you can answer this. What is the result of 4x to the power of 3, plus 4, divided by 2x cubed minus 5?"

It takes me a few seconds but I finally get the answer."32x cubed minus 1 "

He looks at me like I was joking or something so I guess I'll show proof how I got the answer.

"first cubing 4x, which gives us 64x cubed. Then, minus one. Finally, I'd divide it all by 2x cubed."

"Well done luna you should apply for the AP math class which is a year above you"

I pause for a moment thinking of a respectful way to reject his offer.

"Thank you sir but I am fine with this class"

Why would I want to do that, I wouldn't have any friends. And maverick is a year above me so I would never get a break from him. Just because I'm starting to like him a bit doesn't mean I want to be with him 24/7.
