I wasn't sure what it was, but the teachers felt off.

But I couldn't care less, it was strange though. I could easily indicate through the giant school, it wasn't difficult at all. Like the wind was guiding me. I went inside my first assigned class and sat down on a bench that was free, next to a scrawny looking boy with brown and curly hair. He was wearing a cap, which said "NYC", on it, it was a blue one. By the way, we live in Manhattan. It was odd to be wearing one inside the class.. But I didn't bother asking.

"What's your name?" The boy asked me, I looked at him and his hat again.

"Hemera Anston, and you?"

"Grover Underwood." He stated softly, I nodded.

A teacher entered the class, with dark brown hair, and white streaks all over. She looked like an old lady.. Fair enough.

"Good day class, my name is Aniline. But I'd prefer if you called me Miss. Calloway. I'll be teaching you english. Now, let's start with roll calls.." Miss. Calloway's eyes landed on me, and I could've sworn she looked like she had fangs. She started calling out names, and I waited for mine. After she said mine, I raised my hand and she checked her clipboard.

She kept eyeing me suspiciously, I paid no mind to it.

We didn't do any studying the whole day. Just getting to know each other, teachers, students, and a LOT of ice breakers. At some point, I felt like a worker at Starbucks being forced to say cringy slogans to sell coffee.

I felt interested with this Grover boy, he was really friendly, but he seemed off. Like he knew something I didn't.

I was sitting with him at lunch, and he kept asking me questions, which I couldn't care to remember.

I looked at that teacher again, Miss. Calloway and then looked back at Grover.

"There's something odd about that lady. She kept staring at me during class. She seems like.. Really really weird." I told him, hoping for agreement. He looked at me again, with that same look, as if he knew something I didn't.

"Yeah.." He said simply.

School ended pretty boringly. Nothing special, at least I had a new friend, Grover was nice.

I went up to my dad's car and got in, I looked at him, his face was full of worry.

"Uh.. Kid?"

"Yeah dad?"

"Did you make any friends?"

"Mhm. This boy named Grover."

"Oh. Uh.. Good."

He sounded nervous, as he drived us back home, he asked me another question,

"So, were you able to make it through to your class easily?"

"Oh yeah! I didn't even need to ask. It was like each time I had to make a turn, the wind brushed past me the right way! And I could've sworn.. When that happened, my eyes were a teal color! You think the wind goddess was guiding me Or something?" I asked jokingly,

We pulled into our house and silence filled the air.

"We have a lot to talk about." My dad said, in an extremely worried tone.
