- NEVAEH PARKER HAD BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL FOR TWO AND A HALF WEEKS NOW. She had the Orion Plague and the odds weren't looking good. She was a twenty-eight year old woman in her third term of college.

She was taking courses to become an author, the job she had wanted since she was twelve, when her mother first read her the best book she had ever read, almost. Shadow and Bone. She had loved every single detail, almost all the characters and she loved the plot more than anything, except for one specific thing. The death of one character, The Darkling.

There was nothing she hated more than how his story ended, she had always wanted to change it. But her mother had always told her since she voiced her displeasure that things that don't exist can't be changed, but Nevaeh had always known that world was real somewhere, and she was determined more than anything to get there.

The monitor standing beside her bed beeped more and more slowly every minute. She closed her eyes knowing her doctor would come in soon to tell her to rest. She waited to hear the footsteps of the doctor coming in, the squeak of the food tray wheeling into the room. She kept waiting and waiting. Until she noticed something was wrong. The heart monitor had stopped beeping, she couldn't hear anything, every single feeling and emotion faded away, leaving her with nothing.

Faraway, in a very different, very distant world, a child of royal northern blood was born. But not just any royal child, this child with the gift and blood of the stars. The northern goddess of the moon watched from the sky as the queen of the north held her newborn daughter. The goddess smiled proudly. For eons, she had wanted to change the world, this world, she had always hated one man's end, but she never could, gods could never interfere.

She could only watch as the queen held her child. The king entered the room as the goddess continued to watch, for that was all she could do. Watch as this little girl fulfilled both her's and the goddess' dreams to change the world, to save some that were not supposed to be saved but would be. As the goddess faded back into the stars, the queen knew exactly what to name her beloved daughter. Nyra Court, Star Saint. As she was destined to be.

Hey guys, so this is the first chapter introducing two of the main characters, Nevaeh Parker, and Nyra Court. So, yeah, I'm excited about where this is headed, chapter one will probably be posted later this week. I hope you guys enjoy and if you're new to the shadow and bone tv show + book series than also hope you like it and try out something new.

You guys are amazing and I hope lots of people like this so I can keep posting, thanks guys for your awesomeness of just being you and stuff...
