Hey people,
I dont know if you noticed, but for a while my book had lost some direction. But I sat down with myself and well. I have direction now. But enough about me! I'd like to shoutout to you guys who have been reading commenting and folling my book so ardently. I love connecting with my readers, especially when you guys message me with questions. I love, love love it. I'm dead serious, if you see me online, at least say hi. Dont leave me hanging *spontaneously bursts into song*...Okay, enough weirdness. I promised an update in a few hours and thats what you're going to get. Hope it's not morning in Singapore yet....broken promises.... Anyway! Without further ado....

She could see a figure striding in the distance.
Luna had kept watch again, much to her chagrin. She had no idea what had gotten into her concerning Lucas Mortimer but she did know that whatever it, it was unrelenting.
Her heart hammered lightly in her chest as the figure drew closer and closer to the door of her house. She raced down the stairs, as much as she could in the dress and slippers Emily had made her wear once she had heard that Mr Mortimer was paying a visit, just in time to see Lucas shrug his coat and remove the top hat that donned his head and hand them over to the doorman, Jack.
Jack gestured for the nervous looking Mortimer to sit down and left him in the waiting area, most likely to alert papa, Nathaniel or Theodore of the visitor.
“He does look quite handsome doesn’t he?” a deep voice came from behind her making Luna start violently.
She jumped as her heart hammered wildly.
“Nathaniel,” she whispered not wanting to give away her makeshift hiding spot, “You scared me half to death.”
He smiled, though she couldn’t see it for she spoke without taking her eyes off Mr Mortimer. Her eyes had not left the sitting fugure once. “You do realise that staring wont do you any good.”
She turned around to face him then; her back leaned against the railing as she crossed her arms over her chest. “Well I cannot just go and present myself. Emily said a lady must always wait-”
“Emily, Shemily.” He interrupted her with a careless wave of his hand, looking the picture of nonchalance as he smiled at her. “I shall be going to see what has brought this fine gentleman into our home.”
Nathaniel placed his hands on her waist, gently guiding her away from the railing till his back was to it and not hers.
“I wouldn’t put it past you to fall.” He explained, chucking her chin fondly when she looked at him questioningly.
With a playful wink Nathaniel strode down the stairs making his footsteps deliberately noisy.
“Mr Vancroft.” Lucas Mortimer stood to shake Nathaniel’s hand.
Nathaniel smiled amicably, “Please there is no need for all that formality.” He shook the outstretched hand, “Call me Nathaniel.”
“I assume you’re here to visit Luna?” Nathaniel reclined on the couch crossing his legs casually as he questioned Lucas.
“Yes, I am.” He looked around expectantly as though waiting for her to materialise into the room.
From the distance she watched him, his hair was longer than she’s initially thought, cascading in controlled waves a few inches past his nape. Even from far his hair was beautiful, Luna thought. The parting was perfect, she liked the way his scar crumpled slightly as he spoke, how his lips moved when he talked- stilling her thoughts she paid more attention to the scene downstairs.
