Second POV:
Everyone had started their training with Mujika and Sonju. Teaching them how to survive, the essential knowledge, and skills. Sonju teaches the kids how to use a weapon and Emma is getting good at archery.
"Awesome, Emma!"
"She's something else, alright..."
"We'll have to cross a river, and for that, there's no choice but to go outside. I'll go alone first and scout the area." Sonju told Mujika as he put his hood on.
"Take care." Mujika said.
"Sonju, are you going up?" Emma asked Sonju.
"Aye." Sonju replied.
"Then please take me with you. I want to get a look at the situation, too. I swear I won't do anything risky, or bother you in any way... please." Emma pleaded.
"I understand. However... do not, even for a moment, get away from me... and from this." Sonju said.
Both Emma and Sonju left.
As for you, you've been training in your own way when you were a demon slayer in your past life.
You asked Sonju if he could set up some unpredictable traps for your training, which you managed to avoid the traps without getting any wounds.
Right now, you are now swinging your wooden sword for the 1,110th time without breaking any sweat. Ray, Don, and Nat were amazing watching your training.
"How can you still keep up with your training?" Ray asked.
"I'm used to it." You replied while swinging your wooden sword.
"Maybe it's an easy training for you." Don said.
"Easy, you say?" You questioned.
"How about you teach us!" Nat said, as Ray and Don nodded in agreement.
"Fine, but I'm not going easy on you three." You gave them a scary grin.
'Why do I have a bad feeling about this...' Ray thought.
A few hours later...
The three boys got back from the forest with more wounds and scars appeared from their body, clearly they didn't avoid those traps.
While they were panting from exhaustion, three wooden swords were thrown on the ground.
"What are you waiting for? Swing your swords already!" You yelled at them.
The three boys immediately grabbed the wooden swords and were already swinging them.
You walked up to them. "I want you guys to swing it 1,000 times."
"1,000 TIMES!?"
"But Y/n, we can't-" Don stopped when he saw a harsh glare coming from you.
"Did I hear a complaint? You guys asked for this." You said.
Don shudders in fear and continued swinging his wooden sword.
Some time later, Emma and Sonju came back as the two of them saw the Ray, Don, and Nat swinging their wooden swords. While you were watching them.
"Another 500 more!" You shouted.
"What?!" The three boys shouted.
"Stop complaining and do as you were told!" You yelled at them.
Emma sweatdropped she couldn't believe your personality had changed into a scary person. She was glad she didn't go to your training.
"If Urokodaki-sensei is here, he would slap some senses in them." You muttered.
Few days later...
Day five
"We did it!!!" All the children cheered.
"Right ahead, we'll rise up, and you'll be leaving the forest already. Let's rest for the night! We can proceed tommorow." Sonju said.
"This time, leave the dinner to us!" Rossi said.
"Then we'll go make more medicine from herbs!" Jemima said.
All of them gathered some wood for the fire, ingredients to make some medicines, and cooked for their dinner tonight.
"My, these kids really do learn fast." Mujika said.
"This is nothing, Ray, Emma and Y/n are way faster!" Alicia said.
"Norman was amazing too! One glance and baam! He was already a pro!" Chris said.
'Premium goods, huh... So these are the brains nurtured at the very best plantation...' Sonju thought.
TimeSkip
"It was great, thanks!"
"All right! Tommorow we should be reaching BO6-32!!" Don said.
"If we keep a good pace, that is." Nat said.
"Then we're gonna keep a good pace!!" Both Yvette and Chris said.
All the small kids gathered to Mujika and said.
"But I don't want to leave you guys..."
"Yes, me either."
Ray notices something is bothering Gilda and asks. "Gilda, what's the matter?"
"Ah no, it's... I was just rethinking our plans..." Gilda replied.
"Huh? How come?" Lannion asked.
"Well, I was thinking about those "stories of old" that Sonju told us... It's good to know that there's a human world somewhere. But, on the other hand... We thought that there would be human groups here, in this world." Gilda said.
'Go as fast as you can to Minerva's place.'
'Join other humans on the outside.'
"We were counting on human cities or something, but there's nothing. No other humans to join either. And we need more people to rescue the kids left on the farm... That's why we have to think it all over again." She said.
"You're correct." Ray said.
"Sonju!" Emma called Sonju.
"Are there more humans like us... Runaways?" Emma asked.
"You should know, right? Did you hear anything in your travel?" She said.
"There are many plantations..." Ray said.
"It's very possible that Minerva has hidden instructions for the others, too." Lannion said.
"Oh! I see, so maybe some other kids managed to get away..." Thoma said.
"Never heard of it. And, even if there were any... It'd be a small count indeed. One or two at best." Sonju said.
"Huh?"
"But why?" Emma asked.
"Plantations may have nothing in common with one another but the name. In particular, Premium-Grade plantations like your Grace Field are exceptional. The large majority are for factory farming." Sonju said.
"Factory... Farming? What's that?" Thoma asked.
"The mass production of cheap meat. Where the livestock is kept in poor conditions, barely even living... Just fattening for the slaughter. Humans born in such farms don't even learn a language. They have no names. They have no free will. And they most certainly couldn't even conceive of escaping." Sonju explained.
"Though even if they did, they'd get nowhere, anyhow."
"That's just horrible." You mumbled, as you crossed your arms.
'I hope you live a peaceful life, Kanao-chan...'
