Chapter 4

Eshanth put his hand on Adarshini's knee, stopping her from shaking her legs. " You okay?" Eshanth asked softly. The cold air from car air conditioner freeze her hands, rubbing her hands she nodded. Eshanth eyes fell on her hands before he gesture driver to turn off the air conditioner. Eshanth look around the car, not finding the thing he's looking for, he sat up and take off his scarf that was around his neck.

Adarshini look at Eshanth every movement. Her nervousness is all gone now. Eshanth sharp jaw, his soft lips that she want to kiss so badly, his eyebrows, everything about him is driving Adarshini crazy. She turns her head biting her lips to stop herself from imagining irrelevant things.

" Adarshini." Eshanth voice made her turn her head to look at her husband, who has his body turned towards her, holding the scarf in his hand.

Eshanth slide a little closer to Adarshini and put the scarf around her neck and gently wrapped the end of the scarf around her finger which was freezing few seconds ago. Adarshini's face warm up a little feeling Eshanth breath on her face. She gulped.

" Thank you." Adarshini said. Eshanth nod and went back to his original position. The ride to Adarshini's parents house which was giving Adarshini panic is now turned to a calm ride. Her heart was pounding thinking about Eshanth action. Keeping a smile on her face she turns to look outside the window.

Looking at the familiar street, Adarshini close her fist. Taking a deep breath she made herself ready to face whatever was coming.

" Bhul he gai apni ma ko tu" Adarshini mother, Laxmi says before pulling her in a hug. Adarshini put her head on her mother's shoulder trying to keep the feeling of her mother's rare hugs. Before Adarshini could get comfortable in the hug her mother breaks the hug and went to give Eshanth a hug.

" Oh my lovely son, how are you?"  Laxmi's over sweetly voice echoed in the living room.

" I'm good mom, how are you?"
" I'm very good."

" Come here meet my friends." Laxmi took Eshanth to meet her friends, leaving Adarshini behind.

" You guys know, Eshanth was mentioned in the Business world magazine as one of the richest man." Laxmi's friends giggles. Eshanth just stood by  Laxmi's side without saying anything, maintaining his normal arrogant posture. If it was someone else Eshanth would have left, but since it's his mother in law. He stood their letting Laxmi brag about him to her friends. Adarshini looked at her mother bragging about her husband's wealth. She felt embarrassed.

Adarshini's family too was rich, but not as much as Eshanth's. Eshanth is old money whereas Adarshini's family is new money. No wonder in Laxmi's eyes she can't see how successful her own daughter is.

Adarshini look at her husband. ' He must be awkward' letting out a sigh Adarshini went  to her husband. Eshanth feeling her presence turned to look at her.

Adarshini give Eshanth a small smile before taking his hand in hers. " Ma, Eshanth ji must be tired, I'll take him to our room." Adarshini says before walking Eshanth to their room which was Adarshini's old room.

Pushing the door open Adarshini and Eshanth walk in the room. Eshanth sit on the couch and watch Adarshini walking around the room. " What's wrong?" Adarshini was about to say something, but Adarshini's father voice stopped her.

" Adarshini go help your mother." Adarshini look at her father standing at the door. Adarshini went out of her room not before taking a glance at her husband.

Whole day Adarshini didn't have the chance to see her husband. She became too busy with the house work. Even though they have maids, Laxmi likes to make Adarshini do all the work, to show her friends how good is Adarshini at house work too.

Adarshini lean her back against the wall resting a little before her mother calls for her again.

Laxmi ask Adarshini to serve the tea to the guests. Adarshini nod before she started serving. She extend her hand for the lady to take the cup from her hands, but Adarshini stumbles on the carpet and the tea fall on the lady's feet ruining her outfit.

Adarshini apologises. The lady smile and wave her hands says " It was a mistake beta. It's okay."Adarshini apologised again feeling bad for ruining her outfit.

" Adarshini go to study room right now." Laxmi angrily said.

Banging the door shut Laxmi made her way to Adarshini, who was standing in the middle of the room. Laxmi grab Adarshini's wrist digging her nails into it. Adarshini take a sharp breath feeling the pain.

" You don't know how to walk?" Laxmi angrily asked. " I'm sorry." Adarshini says.

" You're sorry...after humiliating me in front of my friends, you're sorry." Laxmi yanked her wrist. A yelp came out of Adarshini's mouth. Her mother dig her nails more in Adarshini's wrist making it bleed a little. " Whenever I try to think you're maybe a good child you always prove me wrong. You're just a mistake."

Laxmi let Adarshini's wrist go and made her way to the door. Holding the knob of the door Laxmi turn to look at Adarshini " You're just a disappointment." Laxmi said before walking out.

Adarshini couldn't help but fall down on her knees, tears streaming down without stopping. A sob was threatening to break out, but Adarshini didn't let it slip. Adarshini cover her face with her hands letting the tear wet her hands. It's been weeks she has been crying every single day, she's too tired. Her chest hurts from her mother words. This is not the first time she has said those things and probably not the last.

Adarshini didn't want to come to her house knowing something like this will happen.

She stood up and went to the bathroom.

Eshanth was repeatedly looking at his watch, Adarshini was nowhere to be seen. ' Where's she?' Eshanth stood up to go look for Adarshini. " What's wr-" Adarshini's father, Alok look at Eshanth who cut his words. " Adarshini must be looking for me." Eshanth says and leaves the room.

Eshanth roam around hallway looking for Adarshini. Eshanth stopped a butler to ask about Adarshini, getting the information Eshanth walk towards their room.

Eshanth was about to knock when he heard a small sob coming from inside, he opens the door without knocking and walk inside. He look at Adarshini who look startled by his presence. Closing the door Eshanth walk closer to Adarshini, who was sitting on the bed. Eshanth kneeled down by the bed to match his height with Adarshini.

Cupping her face in his hand Eshanth stare at Adarshini's red eyes.

" Who made you cry?"
