Street Smarts (A Fast and Furious Fanfiction)

Chapter 1

"Hey. Just packed up a big money load and it's coming your way. Look for Rodgers on the side of the truck. Don't forget my share of the deal."

"You got it." The guy hangs up and I get up from the couch. I whistle loudly into the hallway and immediately hear people jumping to action. I can hear Vince going over maps with Leon in the kitchen as Letty walks out of our room.

"Got the phone call?"

"Yep." I toss her a jacket. I catch a glimpse of Jesse scrutinizing Vince's engine in the driveway before running upstairs.

Bam! Bam! "We're gone in 10 with or without you Dom!"

His response is faint through the door. "I'm a little busy!"

"Well you got five to un-busy yourself and five to be out the door!" I bang the door one last time for good measure and then bolt downstairs laughing when he suddenly yanks the door open with a grouchy look on his face. His brunette entertainment of the evening scurries down the stairs and out the door as I disappear into the kitchen. I lean over the table to look over our maps for a final time. 

I feel two arms wrap around me from behind and turn grinning to Letty. I thumb the zipper on her black leather jacket, looking her up and down. Am I ashamed? No. My girl is hot as fuck.

"You like the view?" Letty smirks.

"It'd be better without all these extra layers blocking it," I pout.

She giggles. "Well you can get rid of 'em later. We got a job to do right now."

I pull her in for a kiss but stop at a voice in the doorway.

"We're gone in five with or without you two," Dom mocks me. I roll my eyes and dodge the smack headed for my head as we pass by him.

I walk outside to see Mia with Jesse standing by my car.

"Everything looking good?" I ask. They give me the thumbs up and as I wrap my arms around Mia she squeezes me tight.

"Be careful please," she says.

"We've pulled this off a couple times already. We know what we're doing, I promise." I rub her back reassuringly.

"Might be a good time to get us in on it then," Jesse grumbles.

"Hey," I warn. "We talked about this. You guys are the youngest and it works best with just five people."

"We'll be fine and so will you," Letty gives him an affectionate shove. "Besides, we'll need you afterwards to check on the cars."

"We'll be back by morning," I say, and climb into my driver's seat.

Waving bye to Mia and Jesse we drive off to a warehouse a little outside of town. Once there we cover the cars, switch to black honda civics, and change whatever non black clothing we might have.

I walk over and give Letty a real kiss before we separate into our respective cars.

"You come back to me in one piece now, you hear me?" I tell her.

She rolls her eyes, then rests her forehead against mine.

"We'll be okay," she says. I nod, then pull away.

I wave at the boys, letting them know we're ready. I climb into one car, Letty into another, and Dom, Vince, and Leon take the front as we drive off into the city.

I keep an eye on the large shipping truck just ahead of us and wait for a signal.

Leon's voice comes over the walkie talkie. "Highway's clear. We're getting ahead of him."
