I sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose. As much as I hate paperwork, I'm the only one that manages to keep it organized most of the time so by default it usually falls onto me.

"Need some help?" I look up to see Dom with a soda in an outstretched hand. I grab it gratefully and scoot over for him to take a look. He scans over it and says, "You know, it could be worse."

I roll my eyes. "Yeah. Could also be better though. Garage is doing fine but if it weren't for our, uh, freelancing, I don't know how much time the bodega would have left."

"It's a good thing we got the freelancing then."

"We can't keep it up forever, Dom," I say. "That's why I'm worried."

"But we can right now."

"I know that," I snap. "But..."

He raises an eyebrow. I scowl and return my gaze to the books on the table.

"Forget it," I mutter under my breath. "We'll fuckin' keep going til we either get arrested or killed I guess."

My chest gets tight and I barely even bother to register a new voice at the doorway.

"You guys want something to drink?"

I squint at the pages as I hear a quiet response followed by receding footsteps. I've been staring at these numbers too long today and they're starting to swim around on the page. I huff and lean back in the chair, glancing out of the office door to see Letty, Leon, and Jesse watching the front and muttering to themselves.

Sometimes I still can't believe I have them again. Especially her. I remember a time not too long ago when I thought I'd walked out on her for good. And now?

I'm snapped out of my thoughts at the sound of Mia's voice.

"God, would you get out there Dom, I'm sick of this shit!"

I whip my head around and peer out the front to see Vince brawling with some guy on the road. I roll my eyes. Dom leans forward on the window.

"What'd you put in that sandwich?" he says.

"That's really funny," she shoots back.

Letty looks incredulous as she calls out, "Dom!"

I take a folder and smack him in the arm. "Get out there before he gets his ass handed to him."

Dom sighs, "Alright."

I massage my temples and try going back to the books. I've just got a few more things to calculate and jot down and then I can go help with chewing out V. I scribble down a few notes, slam the folder shut, and stand up to go outside right as Dom's voice rings out in the air.

"Don't come around here again!"

I huff and jump up to sit on the counter in front of Mia.

"You going out there?" she asks.

I scoff. "If I do, even I might start swinging and I know better than to get involved in a fight I won't win." She smirks at me.

I scrunch my face and squint to try and see around Dom. It's too bright for me to see properly from inside, but there's something strangely familiar about the guy's voice.

"Hey man, this is bullshit!"

I immediately tense and narrow my eyes at his tone, but Dom walks right back up to him.

"You work for Harry, right?" Dom says.

"Yeah I just started."

"You were just fired." My brows shoot up and I glance back at Mia, who looks furious.

The guy jumps in his truck and leaves as Dom storms past and goes back into the office, slamming the door behind him.

"Who was that guy?" I ask Letty as she comes up to join us.

"I dunno, he comes in every day asking for the same shit and Vince got fed up," she says.

"What same shit?"

"Tuna sandwich. Vince wants to beat his ass over a fucking tuna sandwich," Mia seethes.

I quickly glance at her before smirking and raising an eyebrow at Letty. She tries to stifle a laugh.

"They both must really like tuna," I snicker. "Testosterone is wild."

She grins. "Lucky I don't gotta deal with that."

"Yeah, lucky you," Mia grumbles. I snort and burst out laughing with Letty.

Mia heads to the back and I thumb Letty's belt loop, pulling her in.

"You planning on going tonight?" I ask.

"Of course, we all are," she says.

"I dunno Letty," I say. "There's still a lot of paperwork I gotta get to."

"Man, don't tell me you're staying behind again to stare at those damn folders all night," Leon comes up from behind.

"What? Shit needs to get done around here somehow and if I'm the only one that's gonna stay home then so be it," I argue.

"Even you deserve a break every now and then baby," Letty pecks me on the cheek. "We miss having you there."

"And your winnings!" Leon chimes in. Mia chucks a napkin wad at him.

"Letty's right, you should relax. You've done enough paperwork today," she says.

I roll my eyes and smile and immediately they break out into wide grins. "Alright, fine."

I start pulling Letty to the cars with a mischievous smile. "But you and me are getting home before the boys do. I need a break from testosterone and my girl is the perfect answer to that."

Letty laughs as we jump in the car and race away from the sounds of whistling and yelling fading into the distance.
