"Bye guys! I'm off to school!", Athena said. She was a black-haired girl with eyes that were seen to be a deep blue, but sometimes flickered to a green or a purple as well if one payed close attention, which no-one seemed to. Her friends Emma and Sofie waved her off and then promptly vanished as they always did, but she felt their presences beside her. So, what do you think we're doing today? Emma asked. Don't know, don't care. said Sofie. Oh come on you two, stop bickering!, Athena said, Let's just go to school. Okay... Sofie said, sulking.
I went to school, and since I had managed to skip three grades due to being incredibly smart, so I was put into 7th grade. If there was one time I was thankful that I was tall for my age, it would be now, as it allowed me to look normal in the classroom. I entered just before the bell rang and sat down. "Alright, now for attendance... Athena?". Oh great, here we go again. I mentally rolled my eyes. "Present Mrs. Hurley", I said in a more or less monotone voice. She pulled out my records, and I saw her eyes widen. I knew from experience that she had most likely read the part about me being 8 years old, not a 12 or 13 year old like the others in the class. "Well, alright then. Now, let's move on with attendance... Bailey?" she said, moving along the list of students. Meanwhile, I just waited for the day to end so I could leave the much more boring part of my day behind.
