"Aiiii Rayyyyyyy, help me empty the basement" A deep voice boomed in the now half empty house, sending ripples of soundwaves back making an echo.

"I told you we could do the basement tomorrow" the man with a huskier voice resonated back as he made his way towards the origin of the said voice. There stood a man, lean and tall, big eyes and a mask covering the half of his face as he tried to walk his way through the dust. The shorter man just shook his head smiling as he looked at his impatient boyfriend trying to finish all the work in a day itself.

"Sand, you better not get sick because of all the dust and dirt. I am not looking after you" The younger male tried to sound intimidating when suddenly the said person decided to fling a cloth covering a box and they both erupted in a fit of coughs and sneezes because of the large amount of dust.

Finally after a bit of more wheezing from both the males. Sand starts rummaging through the old tin box, emptying the contents. Ray is carefully arranging those in a cardboard box to be taken out when taking up a handful of old books, a paper slips down. The shorter male doesn't really acknowledge it much but he could still see it from the corner of his eyes, and so he picks up the piece of paper.

He carefully tries to open it but it's sealed, An unopened letter? the younger male flips the letter around and sure enough there was some written contents, it was addressed to someone named "First Kanaphan Puitrakul"

'Kanaphan' wasn't that Sand's lastname?

"Sand, does this belong to your family?" Ray passed the letter to the taller male who took it and inspected it a bit reading the names and address.

"First Kanaphan, was my Grandfather you know the army one?" Sand said casually as he paid no mind to the letter and went back to cleaning the stuffs. Ray too just shrugged it off and got back to his work.

The shorter male was again just cleaning up the other side of the  basement when he suddenly slipped causing his leg to end up slipping down, he seemed to have stepped on the softer side of the wooden flooring. Sand ran to his side to help him up, Groaning the smaller man tried to stand up when his eyes caught a sight of something. The piece of flooring he has stepped on was raised a bit making that part of the flooring uneven.

He stood up and carefully removed the piece of wood and sure enough there was a small tin box, seemed like someone has intentionally hidden it. Taking it out, he made is way towards the middle of the basement and sat down followed by his boyfriend.

"Sand do you think we should open it ?" Ray said as he looked at the box in his hands. The other male skeptically eyes the box, "feels like we're playing a treasure hunt, what do you think it is?" the shorter male added, rather excitedly shaking the box a bit, but all they could hear was some rustling of sheets.

"What if one of my ancestors made a will and hid it ?, What if with this I come to know that I've worth a millions of inheritance ?" The taller male stated rather seriously earning a laugh from his boyfriend, "Sand you need to stop watching those daily soaps".

The shorter male took a deep breathe as he opened the box, revealing a bunch of letters?

He gave his boyfriend a questioning look as they both  scanned the papers. Some were still addressed to "First Kanaphan Puitrakul" but a rather larger portion was addressed to another name "Khaotung Thanawat Ratanakitpaisan".

"Do you know who Thanawat is ?" Ray asked his eyes still on the pieces of paper lying around them to which the taller male just shook his head and answered "I don't think I've heard anyone mention the name in the family before"

"Do you think we should open these letters?" The shorter male questioned his partner , because something in him knew , these weren't just old papers, and they both sensed that these once opened was going to change something in their life.

"Not now, let's just clean up everything  a bit and then decide what we can do with these" Sand looked at his boyfriend who gave him a solemn nod and left the basement, while the taller male ran back remembering something and rummaged through the box, Ray's eyes followed his boyfriend as he managed to pull out a rather worn out and very old notebook. He raised his brow in question.

"This belongs to my grandfather, I found it while cleaning a while ago but didn't think it would be necessary but now I think we might need  it " and with that both the boys made their way back to the house.

The house was now rather empty, this was the house where Sand grew up with his grandmother after his parent's death, He spent the last 17 years of his life here until he landed a scholarship in the US and he had to leave. And now since he was back and his grandmother had shifted to her ancestral house claiming she was too old to be staying in the city alone. He and Ray decided to renovate the house and fix some things , so they could move in together.

Ray slowly made his way to the coffee table, leaving the letters and the notebook there as he made his way to the shower followed by Sand laughing as he says something in the lines  saving the water bill by showering together.

The rest of their day was filled with the two boyfriends cooking together and just being their presence, fits of giggles and laughter could be heard , and constant playful bickering as they had dinner.

After dinner Sand dries his hand as he puts the last bowl away in the cabinet and slowly makes his way out the kitchen untying the apron, he could hear Ray getting ready for bed and as he walks across the living room, he lets his eyes sweep around the papers resting on the table.

He gingerly picks up the letter that was dated the oldest one and stares at it for a while, it was the one addressed to his his grandfather.

"What are you doing" startled a bit, he looks over his shoulder to see Ray lazily making his way towards him, the shorter male gives a short glance at the paper in the other's hand and sliding his hands on the other's waist, encloses the taller male in a comforting back hug.

Sand understood it was a way of telling him that whatever it is, his partner was with him. So he slowly flips the paper around, seeing the seal was already broken. He takes out the paper inside and lets his eyes scan the contents.
