MARIA

It took me a few blinks, but my vision stayed blurred. I was unsure of where I was.

My shoulders were hurting like hell. I let out a groan as I tried to move my arms, only to find them tied behind me. My surroundings became a slight bit clearer. I could feel the cold air coming from a small window in the wall. The rest of the room was dull and my heart felt like it was beating two thousand miles per hour.

I let out short and laboured breaths as I stared down into my naked lap.

Couldn't even give me pants... I thought, scoffing with the little strength I had left. But that took all of it.

My head started spinning and my body felt like I was on a merry go round, but this one was much stronger and much faster than the one at the fair.

I felt my consciousness slowly slipping away. My vision grew blurrier, my breaths more laboured. My heart rate slowed and I could no longer think any straight thoughts.

I was...drugged. I had to be...surely, they wouldn't...just leave me...to die-

***

Black. That was the last thing I remembered as I opened my eyes to the sound of metal clanking. Ahead of me was an iron door, the source of said sound.

The metal sounds soon stopped as the door heavily swung open, revealing two tall and blurry figures. They seemed to be getting closer and I tried to make out who they were, but winced in pain as the sound of the door cracking against the wall hit my ears.

With the unbearable headache I had, the sound caused enough pain for me to groan. I could handle a hangover, but this was not a normal one at all.

Deep voices echoed through the room, bouncing off the walls and into my now ringing ears. It was a different language and the way they spoke it brought me back.

Russians.

"Good, you're up..." one of the figures spoke. The light in the room didn't help in me studying his face, but I could make out the face of his associate. The bastard who kidnapped my father and I.

"Who..." I tried to speak, though my throat felt as dry as the air. The words couldn't get from my brain to my lips. My face was so numb, my entire body.

A chuckle rumbled from his chest. "Don't try to speak, you can't handle that drug, Maria. You see, you've been injected with a generous dose of Zolpidem, sleep inducing drug. Very powerful when little suka like you is given 15mg of this one,"

He grinned, holding up a syringe as he glanced down at me.

"We use this for the wild pigs we come across," he finished, taking a step towards me and kneeling down to meet my eye level.

I glared into his eyes, as high as I was.

When we arrived here, they took me in first and wouldn't allow me to see my father. So, I did what any irrational son of a bitch would do and I bit the first hand I could reach. My combat skills weren't the best, but I would not let these jerks hurt my father. I just needed to know if he was okay. If he was even alive...

At this point, I almost let out a growl and I was ready to bite this bitch's ear off his head. But my eyes were pulled away from his when they landed on a woman strutting into the room.

She looked all dolled up, clean and serpent-like with her pale skin and long neck. The guy knelt in front of me turned to her with a grin as he rose to his feet to greet her by snaking his hand around her waist. Pun intended.
