CHAPTER FOUR
the L word

"You haven't said it?" Brooke widens her eyes, "How is that possible? There's no way that he doesn't feel the same way."

"Have you been putting it off on purpose?" Ansley questions.

Kate enters the conversation, furrowing her eyebrows, "What are we talking about?"

"Finn and I haven't said it," Gwen answers.

"Said what?"

"The L word."

Kate widens her eyes, "Oh! Oh my god, you haven't?"

"It doesn't feel like he loves me," Gwen shrugs her shoulders.

"Do you love him?" Ansley asks.

Gwen pauses, "I don't know what love is."

Brooke furrows her eyebrows, "Fuckin' nonsense. You literally never stop talking about him, there's no way you aren't in love."

"I haven't talked to him in, like, two days," Gwen raises her eyebrows.

"What?" Ansley widens her eyes, "He usually can't go more than six hours."

"I know!" Gwen exclaims, "It's because he's been all buddy-buddy with Scout."

"They're in the same cabin," Kate shrugs, "Maybe it's not what you think."

"It doesn't matter," Gwen sighs softly, "I liked it better when it was just me and him."

"Holy shit!" Brooke exclaims, "Are you collecting for scrapbooking?"

Elliot chuckles nervously, "Uh... no?"

"You scrapbook," Brooke widens her eyes, "Oh my god."

"You won't tell anyone, will you?"

"No, of course not," Brooke shrugs, "Well, if you show me your scrapbooks, I won't."

"Seriously?"

Brooke raises her eyebrows.

Elliot sighs, "Fine."

"This is so cute," Brooke flips the pages.

Elliot attempts to reach out, "You can stop flipping now."

"What? No," Brooke chuckles, "Why don't you want me to see what's at the end of this scrapbook?"

"Just, the more recent stuff doesn't really..."

After a while of flipping pages, Brooke begins to realize how many photos of her are actually in this book.

"That's what you were worried about?" Brooke shakes her head softly, "Nothing to be embarrassed about, Ellie."

There's a beat of silence before Elliot looks at her.

"Can I ask you a question?"
