Michael's POV

I stand in front of the mirror, feeling anxious, as I get ready for when I meet with my fiancé for the first time at the airport. Me and (Y/N) have been friends for a while until I asked her to be mine and then popped the question within the space of 20 seconds.

We've been calling each other, exchanging letters, and all of this began a year and a half ago when I met (Y/N) at Marlon and Carol's engagement party. It may have been a brief meeting, but my feelings were so intense, I swear I've never desired anyone as much as I did her.

*Flashback*

"Michael, we're going to be late." Marlon calls out on the opposite side of the house.Carol, who is Marlon's fiancé, is expecting us at her place for their engagement party.

"We'll be fine." I yell back, assuring him, swiftly grabbing my wallet and jog downstairs. Marlon stands by the door, casually twirling his keys around his index finger.

"You done?" Marlon asks.

"Yes, I'm ready to go." And with that, Marlon pushes me out of the door and we hop into his car.

*At Carols*

We got out of the car and Marlon locks his car up and we both proceed towards the front door of her house, then he slowly turns his head to look at me as ready to tell me something.

"Be on your best behaviour, Michael." Marlon asserts me. Does he genuinely believe I'm an absolute imbecile? I am well aware of how these engagement parties work.

"Yeah, you just take it easy." The sarcasm in my voice was plainly obvious.

He knocks on the door and waits for the door to open. The door swings open revealing Carol beautifully dressed.

"Michael! Marlon! Glad to see you." Carol hugs me and then embraces her fiancé and kisses him. I rolled my eyes and walk past them.

"Get a room you two." I mutter to myself and head into the lounge where the majority of my family were gathered, engaging in conversation. I saw my mother waving in my direction, trying to catch my attention, which of course she succeeded. I drag my feet across the designer carpet that was laid out carefully. I place myself next to my mother who had a beautiful smile on her face.

"Hello mother. I was hoping you'd be here." I let my hand touch the top of hers.

"You know I would never miss an engagement party, especially when it comes to my own children." Katherine looks around the room before turning her attention back on me.

"So, what do you think of Carol? I mean she looks like she'd be a good sister-in-law." Katherine thinks for about half a minute.

"It doesn't really matter to me what I think of Carol. All I care about is that she takes good care of my son and vice-versa." Her words were incredibly wise and thoughtful. I am truly blessed to have a mother with such strong values and beliefs, which have undoubtedly shaped my compassionate nature.

My mother and I were just having a casual conversation for the next few minutes when Carol suddenly approaches us, interrupting our chat.

"I'm really sorry to interrupt you both. Michael! I'd like you to meet someone." I've just walked through the door 10 minutes ago and she already wants to introduce me to someone? This better be worth it.

"Who is it?" I question, tilting my head slightly to the side.

"Come here and find out for yourself." She pulls me up from the seat and guides me into the kitchen, where I am instantly drawn to a beautiful young girl lady leaning up against the countertop. Her red lips, soft hair, mesmerising eyes, and her body altogether capture my attention. She truly embodies the essence of an angel. I think Cupid has struck me with his arrow.
