I got home and I wasn't ready to face anyone. Dad's passing means I'll be thr next alpha. I know this day will come but I didn't imagine it would be this soon.
I know my duties but right now I'm pushing them to the back of my mind.
"Delythena you're here!"
"Hi Mandy."
"How are you holding up?"
"I'm holding up."
"Come on. I start the preparation for you. Oh heads up, Alpha Keiran is here."
"Why?"
Mandy shrug.
I don't want to deal with anyone from that pack. Their alpha is toxic.
I enter the alpha house and almost gagged. He has the audacity to stay in the alpha house.
I stomp upstairs to my room and lock myself in there.
It wasn't long before there was a knock at my door.
"Who is it?"
"It's Keiran."
"Go away you're not wanted here."
"Can we talk?"
I walk to my balcony and jump down. I head to the pack house where I can find some peace with the kids.
"Alpha you're here!"
"Hey Maddy." I pick her up and move the hair from her face. "How are you?"
"My mommy just gave me a baby brother."
"Really? I want to see him." I put her down and she pull me into the nursery. I saw Janice sitting in a rocking chair with a small bundle. "Hi Janice."
"Hello Alpha." I'm not going to get use to that title yet. "Want to hold him?"
"Sure."
"His name is Chris. Alpha Christian was a good man."
I smile at her and look at baby Chris. He's adorable.
"I think I'm catching baby fever."
"You're still young."
"For now. Time waits on no one."
I hand Chris back to Janice.
"Can you bring him to the Alpha house sometimes?"
"Sure."
"Bring Maddy too." She nod and I left. I went to see to the other kids. Kids always put me in a good mood.
