Chapter Two

The next day had come, and Autumn and I were walking to school. We were discussing how I could befriend one of the 10-2 girls I saw yesterday.

"Maybe you can find out a problem she has and help her with it. Trust me, it's the easiest way to make friends and gain respect." Autumn advised.

I listened to what she said, but after that, my mind drifted slightly to her appearance.

"Autumn, isn't your hair usually lighter than that." I asked.

Autumn seemed to be a bit nervous to say something. "My hair seems fine to me." She answered back.

"Well, if you say so." I said.

When we reached to school, we saw Skylar and another boy beside a locker.

"Look Autumn, there she is." I said.

"Oh, then let's go eavesdrop." She replied.

Me and Autumn went behind the locker (which means the locker on the other side of the set of lockers) the two were. It was 5:55am, and school started at 7am, so the place was very quiet.

"So Skylar, where's the money??" The boy asked

Skylar sighed. "I don't have it right now." She said

"Oh really?" The boy asked with teasing present in his voice. " I want my money by today tho."

"I don't have it ok!" Skylar whispered but demanded.

"What you gonna do for me this time in order for me to hold back the deadline for repayment? Because nothing comes for free y'know." The boy said with a mocking voice.

Skylar sighed. "What do you want me to do?" She said with helplessness and desperation in her voice.

"You could give me all the answers for the maths test you did yesterday. I'm sure all of them are correct, right?" The boy said and asked.

"Yes, they are." Skylar answered, as unzipping and shuffling noises are heard. (It is assumed that she's taking the answer sheet out of her bag)"Here." Skylar says after.

"Thanks. Oh and, you can help me by cleaning up the field after football training today." The boy added.

"But I have badminton training today." Skylar pleaded.

"And? You and your rich teammates can wait." The boy said.

(At the school Kian goes to, Badminton is the only sport in which you have to pay to do. And it's a lot of money to join.)

Skylar sighs and there is silence for a moment. Then Skylar walks away as the boy giggles. Kian and Autumn walked away from behind the locker Skylar was in front of.

"So, she owes that guy. I wonder how much." Kian says.

"It should be a good amount of money since she did mention that she does badminton." Autumn replies.

"Well heck. Badminton girls are richer than some of the CEO's today." Kian commented.

"You're right." Autumn added.

"Well, now that we know a problem in her life. We just gotta know how to fix it." Kian said.

Maths class (8:00-9:00am)

I sat at the back of the class and doodled at the back of my book, waiting for class to be over so I could find Skylar. That's when a person's voice came over the intercom.

"Good morning everyone, sorry to disturb. All Business students in grades 10 and 11, please meet in the Grand Hall at 9am for a meeting. Teachers, please excuse your students at this time. Thank you."
