To my surprise, it was none other than Namrata ma'am. Namrata Malhotra- a warm and compassionate woman in her early fifties radiating kindness and grace in every gesture. As a respected psychology professor, she possesses a keen intellect and a deep understanding of human behavior. Her gentle demeanor and nurturing nature make her a beloved figure among her students and colleagues alike.
Over the past year, Namrata ma'am has formed a close bond with me, treating me with the same affection and care she would her with own daughter. And to me, she was a mother figure. Through heartfelt conversations and shared experiences, a deep and meaningful connection has developed between us.
I picked up the call in an instant.
"Hello Raima beta?" Namrata ma'am spoke first.
"Yes ma'am. I was thinking of visiting you today. It's good that you called me once." I spoke hastily.
"Calm down first beta. Drink some water cause you're sounding tired. Is everything fine?." She said in anxious tone.
"Ma'am you know that I become impatient whenever I feel delighted. Whatever it is, I'm not really fine." I answered to her question with a distressed voice.
"I knew it. My intuition was right. So what is it that you're disturbed with?" She asked me.
This is why I always feel that she should've been my mother. She always checks up on me even though I don't want to open up sometimes. She knows me really well. This connection of ours is what makes me belief that it is not necessary to be blood related for having a bond of a mother and daughter.
"Ma'am can we discuss about this in your chamber today? It might be difficult for me to explain everything over the call. But the main thing is that I'm going to start taking therapy." I said.
"That's great. I'm proud of you beta for this decision of yours. Finally you agreed to take a little therapy. You've already healed a lot from your past but you need to heal entirely. And therapy is nothing but a help which you get to decide on things which are difficult to decide by yourself. Don't worry. You can come to me anytime you want."
She said with a hint of pride in her voice. And she always reassures me cause she knows I get insecure sometimes."Yes ma'am. I'm grateful to have someone like you in this dull life of mine. It's for you that I'm still going. So today at 10am will you be present in your chamber?"
"Thank you beta. I'm like a mother to you and that's why I love you as if you're my own daughter. And yes I'm available around 11:30am today."
"Thank you so much ma'am. See you soon."
"Bye beta."
We both cut the call as we say our goodbyes for the time being. Now the time showed 8:20am. I quickly went through my wardrobe. Most of the clothes were trousers, shirts, tops and skirts. Today I'm gonna visit Namrata ma'am almost after 3 weeks. And that's why I want to wear something traditional. Plus, today the weather is humid and I ain't gonna wear something which will make me uncomfortable.
