It wasn't hard to be impressed by Eleanor. She was strong and confident. Her voice was a loud boom that could shake any living being to the core. Her very presence demanded attention.
She was everything Ashley wasn't. Sure Dr. Carson wasn't a push over, her short fuse was the best example of that, but the 05 member was so much more. Eleanor was a warrior, and if it wasn't for her position, Ashley could see the large woman as a warrior running straight into battle. All while the brunette coward.
Everyday She woke up in the blondes arms was a shock to her.
"What ya thinking about?" Eleanore asked, flopping down on the couch beside Ashley. The woman in green didn't even know that her girlfriend had returned home from the gym. Her squishy body covered in sweat, which wasn't something Ashley minded.
The woman in green set down the book she forgot she was even holding. "I was thinking about you..." She muttered. It didn't matter how long they were together or how old they got, when she was under that green eye she was nothing but a nervous puddle. Eleanor laughed, and threw her arm over her girlfriend, pulling them to her side. Every time one of those freckled hands touched her was like a spark. "You're cute." She kissed the top of Ashleys head.
Ashley cuddled into her. "I was thinking about... how great you are." Eleanor's lip twitched up in confusion, her uncovered eyebrow raised. "Oh?" Ashley swallowed her spit. Her eyes slipped to the apartment window, as her shoulders awkwardly shot up. "It's just," she stood, wanting a little more breathing room, "you're the most perfect person I've ever met. I don't think anyone could compare to you." Her voice was weak, eyes still interested in the window.
The shapeshifter smiled. "You're thinking of yourself, Ash." She rested on her feet as well. The brown eyes still refused to meet the green one. "I- y- I... I don't think... I'm not." She finally rested on words, not exactly the ones she meant, but what she wanted was too complicated to say.
Eleanor kneeled to the floor. "Spar with me!" She patted the floor in front of her. "What?" Carson took a step closer. "Spar with me! No actually hitting or fighting or anything, just try to pin me!" This wasn't an uncommon request from Eleanor. Sure Eleanor could talk her way out of an execution, but her real way of communicating was with physical touch.
Ashley stood directly in front of the immortal, the air was calm, gentle. She examined every available inch of the freckled skin that would occasionally be interrupted by scars. Ashley bent her knees, lowering herself beneath her girlfriend. "I guess I could... but we both know you're gonna win." Ashley pulled at the bottom of her dress. "Come on! Give me your all! Fight me like one of those junior researchers you hate!" Eleanors voice motivated Ashley like no one else could.
Ashley darted at her, making Eleanor roll over on the floor. The hair that normally overlapped the woman's chubby face had been knocked out of place, revealing her left eye. "There's the girlie I know!" The blonde called, as said girlie tried to pin her wrists, but her hands were too small to wrap around them. Eleanor threw her body weight, holding the back of Ashley's head and waist so she wouldn't get hurt when she slammed her onto her carpeted floor.
The reality bender rested on her palm, her other fist banging onto the grey ground. "THREE! TW-" Ashley snaked her way out from her girlfriend's legs. She tried to get Eleanor back onto the ground, though Eleanor was prepared this time. It felt like trying to push over a building.
Eleanor stood still, that few inches seemed to make a larger difference. "God damn this shit!" Ashley hissed, putting her full weight into it. Eleanor didn't budge instead she swooped down and wrapped her arms around the brown eyed girls knees. They dumped her on the couch, quickly straddling her. One of Eleanor's hands pinned Ashley's hands like how she tried to earlier. The other hand had found itself beside Ashley's head. The bucked toothed smile she had on had illuminated the dimming room.
Eleanor managed to get to three this time, her fist banging against the sofa so hard Ashley was near certain it would break. "WOOOOOOOOO! I WIN!" Eleanor's arms stuck straight up as she fell off the couch.
Ashley was sweating she couldn't tell if it was from the physical strain or being under Eleanor. She pushed herself onto her forearms, watching as the lagers chest rose and fell. The smile was still wide on her face. She opened her eyes, making Ashley tense. "There's that determined woman I love." She panted.
Eleanor groaned as she sat up. She swung her head back, looking at the patterns that decorated the ceiling. "God, we gotta do that again!" She huffed. Ashley sat on the floor in front of the shapeshifter. "I'd rather not. At least no time soon." She rested her arms on the seat of the sofa. Eleanor's chin joined them. Ashley pet her thin, wheat coloured hair. "Oh alright, but didn't you have fun?" The Clementine peer at her girlfriend through the side of her narrow eyes.
The Carson went quiet for a few seconds. "I guess I did, but not enough for another go." They responded.
Eleanor stood, grunting as she rose. "That's fine, as long as you enjoyed yourself!" She linked their fingers and pressed her palms out, cracking her back. Then she started walking towards the hallway. "I'm going to go shower. Wish to join me, Ash?" Her voice teetered on joke and seriousness. Dr. Carson stiffened, shoulders lifting as much as her eye lids did. "I-I-No! Well, yes, but.. but... I don't like h-how warm y-you prefer the water to b-b-be!" She stuttered, mouth too loose to speak a full sentence at once. Eleanor cackled. "Whatever floats your boat!" She said, disappearing behind the wall.
