The sun's blazing heat beams down on Eran, and me. Eran was shaded by a big tree a little way from the plaza. I was lying on one of the branches that was the most exposed to the sun. One of my legs was hanging off the branch. Meanwhile, Eran was sitting at the base of the tree complaining about the sudden burst of heat, but I thought it was a lot better than the freezing cold weather from earlier today. After I got Ace to check the weather a little bit after Kai vanished, God knows where they said it was around 8 degrees when we left school. Now it's about 46 degrees, so I don't understand why he complained.

"Hey Ivory, don't you think we should look for Kai," Eran said, looking up at me

"he'll be fine. He knows where to find us," I reassured Eran.

This would be the fifth time I had to reassure him.

"Come on, have at least a little faith in Kai," I continued

"Not to be rude or anything but having faith in Kai to not get in trouble is the same thing as betting on a horse instead of a centaur in a fight." Eran snapped back

I mean, he wasn't wrong. Anytime we left Kai alone, he either came back all bloody and injured or running from some authority figure and sometimes both.

"True but still you need to have at least a small bit of trust in Kai I mean he can't get lost in his own village," I said.

"you guy talking bout kai. Cause I saw him going toward that creepie library that should have been destroyed." Ace says as they walk from the cafe with a fresh donut in hand.

"Oh, hey, Ace," Eran says.

I wonder if he properly heard what Ace said because how Kai is that library is one of the worst places to be.

"Wait, you, Kai, where?" Eran shouted. There it is.

"Yeah, last time I saw him he was going to the library," Ace said getting ready to take a bite out of their donut

Or they were till Eran quickly got up from where he was sitting and dashed towards the library, bumping into Ace and them drop their donut.

"Welp there goes a perfectly good donut" Ace shrugged.

I kind of feel bad for them too bad I don't have anything money to get them a new one

"Now that I think about it Ivory when was the last time you were at your village," Ace asked me

"When was the last time you were in your town" I replied

"Screw you to kid. Oh, right I got this letter from your folks" Ace said pulling out a small envelope.

I leaped from the breach and grabbed the envelope from Ace

"When the hell did you get this," I said

"When school ended," Ace said.

I opened the envelope there was about 20 to 30 gold chips and a letter written on a sticky note it read

"Dear Ivory Wingrove, if you are reading this that means the Skylight Village is royally fucked, please hurry written with fear Grand elder tori p.s you left your gold chips here again" It was in cursive but not the same type of cursive that humans write in the Tiran's language.

"So, what does it say and why are there gold chips in there" Ace said butting into something that obviously isn't theirs

"I need to leave there's a problem back in my village. What you want to come" I said sarcastically

"Yes, I do. When was the last time me and you had a little adventure" Ace replied.

That had taken me by surprise, but I snapped out of it quickly
