Cheryl and I stood, too shocked to move, as we read and reread the papers, confirming the results.

The brunette frowned, "I'm honestly hurt you didn't believe me, Cherry. Don't you recognise your own wife?"

Cheryl sighed, "I'm sorry you were hurt but I spent five years thinking you were dead, and then you showed up at the company party after apparently stalking us--"

"I didn't stalk you!"

"So seeing us at the cafe was just a coincidence?" I asked, "You acted like you had no idea who we were."

Heather groaned, "I swear there's a reason for everything. Not that I have to explain myself to you."

"Maybe. But Cheryl did the right thing by asking for a DNA test. She had to protect her family. This could've all been a trick to get access to her money or children."

Cheryl nodded, "Anyone in my situation would've done the same thing."

Heather studied me for a minute then sighed, turning to Cheryl, "Can we talk in private?"

"Anything you have to say can be said in front of Toni."

"And what gives her that right?"

I scoffed, "For starters, I'm her fiancee."

"And you coming back doesn't change that." Cheryl added.

The brunette glared at me then muttered something under her breath.

Cheryl cleared her throat loudly, "Now that I know it's really you, I think you owe us some answers."

"Like where you've been for the last five years."

She looked down then back at us, "That's why I'm here. I want to tell you everything, starting from the day of the crash."

"Ms. Blossom! Where are you going?"

"Who are you wearing, Ms. Blossom? How're things with Cheryl?"

I scowled, "Ugh! Vultures!"

I quickly ducked into the subway to lose them in the morning rush. I hopped on a random train to escape, not realising how big a mistake I'd just made.

"What's happening? AHHHH!"

The train I was on malfunctioned and crashed into the station.

I was buried in the rubble. Apparently, my purse and my ID were mixed up with another woman's. A woman who didn't make it. We both had severe injuries, and we looked enough alike that she was declared me.

When they finally found me, they weren't looking for 'Heather Blossom' anymore, and I wouldn't have recognised the name anyway.

"I have.. amnesia?"

The doctor nodded sympathetically, "The head injury you suffered was quite severe. I wish I had better news."

"Is it permanent?"

"It's possible that your memories will return, with time. But I can't make any guarantees."

"I- Thank you, doctor."

When my memories hadn't come back by the time I was discharged, I just.. left.

I ended up settling in this little town and tried to make a new life for myself. One day a woman approached me in the hallway of my apartment complex,
