Seulgi's eyes snapped open, her heart pounding in her chest as she lay still, taking in her surroundings cautiously. The dark walls of the sedation room had an eerie glow in the dim light. Beside her, Yeri stirred, her breath hitching as she regained consciousness. Their gazes met, a subtle smile being shared—a realization hit them. They had broken the pattern, shattered it.

One by one, the other girls roused from their drug-induced slumber, their eyes darting around the room in silent acknowledgment. Tension crackled in the air as they exchanged wordless nods, a silent plan forming.

But their moment of silence was broken by the blaring alarms, slicing through the quietness like a knife. Instinctively, the girls tensed, anticipation coiling in their chests as they braced themselves for the inevitable.

Sure enough, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the room as guards stormed in, their faces covered by masks as they checked the sedated bodies. As practiced, the girls pretended to be unconscious, their bodies going limp as the guards passed by.

And then, in a swift, coordinated movement, they struck. Seulgi's hand closed around the nearest object—a metal tray—as she swung it with all her strength, the impact sending the guard crumpling to the ground.

With adrenaline rushing through their veins, the girls sprang into action, seizing the opportunity to escape. Seulgi snatched the guard's key card, her fingers trembling with urgency as she fumbled with the lock. The door swung open, and they spilled out into the corridor, the harsh fluorescent lights blinding them as they ran.

Every corner turned, every door breached, brought them closer to freedom. But with each step, the sense of danger grew, a gnawing uncertainty striking at their resolve.

And then, as they rounded a final corner, they stumbled upon a scene that brought them to a screeching halt. Guns trained on them from above, lasers aiming right at them.

Seulgi's breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding in her ears as she met the gaze of her closest friends. In that moment, she knew—they had come too far to turn back now. Whatever awaited them on the other side, they would face it together.

As gunfire erupted, the air thick with the stench of blood and gunpowder, five girls fell, their bodies in the pool of their own blood.

Seulgi thought to herself in her final moments.

We couldn't get past here, but we had left enough resources for the next group of rebels to find their way out of there. They had to... otherwise monsters were to be born...
