Adopted by Delta Goodrem

Chapter 2:

Delta was crying, she had been on the phone all morning, and received the worst news imaginable. Her heart couldn't take the pain, her crying, eventually woke up her fiancé. Matthew "baby what's going on? Aww baby, why are crying? What's going on", she tightly wrapped her arms around him, he wrapped his arms around her, consoling her. Matthew "come let's go sit down", he said walking her over to the couch, she covered her face and cried even harder. Matthew "baby please talk to me, what's going on. I won't know what's going on unless you tell me. Babe what's got you so sad", Delta "I was on the phone with my doctor and they say I may never be able to have children", Matthew saw the pain on her face, Matthew didn't even know what to say, he was too stunned to even say anything, he just stared at the pain of his fiancé. Matthew "I'm so sorry baby", Delta "I want more than anything to be a mother and my chance at being a mother is gone", Matthew "baby don't say that. We can adopt, I know it's not the same but we could give a child that needs a home, two loving parents", Delta "that's not the point. Do you not understand I will never be able to have children, I can't give you the family you deserve", Matthew "hold on a sec babe", Delta "I need some time to myself", she stormed upstairs to the room. Matthew decided to call her parents and tell them the news she received. Lea "she didn't tell me or her father anything", Matthew "her doctor told her because of her diagnosis, she may never be able to conceive or have any children", Lea "did she tell you that as a joke. Her doctor didn't mention that to us", Matthew "are you implying that I'm lying to you, she was crying and was completely heartbroken, I am not lying about this. There's messages in her phone, voicemails, and papers that just came in the mail. None of it is a lie, it's all true", Lea "what's that noise", Matthew "that's her. She's been crying", Delta screamed upon slicing through her skin with the knife, Matthew dropped the phone and ran up the stairs as fast as he could. He found his fiancé collapsed on the floor, he ran over to her, tapping her in different areas of her body to see if she was conscious, but she wasn't. It was the opposite and she was unconscious due to blood loss, Matthew "baby. Wake up, no. Not today babe", he grabbed his phone and called an ambulance. His emotions were all over the place, he kept pacing back and forth, until he stopped at a hospital room, the room looked pretty average, hospital bed, a tv, bathroom but was different about the room was the fact that it was decorated with pictures of Delta, he couldn't help himself, nearly snooping he tripped and caught got caught by the girl that staying in that room. "Your not my doctor, what are you doing here", Matthew "I saw your posters, I thought they are cool", "my posters of Delta", Matthew "yeah", "you like them. Wait a minute, aren't you her fiancé", Matthew "how did you know that", " I follow her on social media, duh", Matthew "I should have known lol", "so what are you doing here", Matthew "I don't know if it'll be a good idea to tell you. You know since you are a big fan of hers", "did something happen to her", Matthew "I better get going, I'll see if she could stop by when she's a bit better", "ok, I'd like that", he left and headed to Delta's hospital room. Once she saw him, she tightly wrapped her arms around his waist, Matthew "you scared the crap out of me baby, please don't ever do that again", Delta "I'm sorry", Matthew "no, I'm sorry. I should have been right there, holding you as you cried, telling you that everything was going to be okay. I should have been better for you in that situation, I wasn't helping you and I apologize for not properly doing that for you", Delta "your here with me now, and that's all that matters. I love you so much", Matthew "I love you too. So before coming to your room I merr met a girl, she's probably 10, she is obsessed as so in love with you. She has posters of you in her room", Delta "aww that's the sweetest thing ever", Matthew "would like to meet her? I kind of told her that I would see if you'd be willing to meet her", Delta "I would love to", "feeling any better", Delta "yeah. Much better", "you're going to be discharged from the hospital but you are on watch. Your husband here will have to look out for you until you are cleared", Delta "okay. While I get dressed can you go to the gift shop and buy two balloons and a teddy bear", Matthew "okay", Delta got up and out of bed, and put her clothes on, Delta "that was fast", Matthew "lol. Are you ready to go visit her", Delta "yeah", holding hands they walked to the girl's hospital room, "oh my gosh. You're actually here, she's gonna be so excited", Matthew went inside first, she was happy to see him, when Delta came in, she instantly began to cry, Delta "aww baby. Don't cry", Delta hugged her, "I love you so much", she squeezed out before she cried even more, trying to process meeting her idol. Delta "you're such a cutie, why are you here"? "Suicide watch, I've tried to take my own life on multiple occasions. You and your music is the only reason I'm actually here", Delta "aww it means so much to me that you see me that way", "hi how you doing girly", "fine", "oh wow looks like you have a visitor. Could I speak with you", Delta "with me", "yeah", Delta "I'll be back sunshine", she said kissing the top of her child's head, "so as you can see Avery is in love with you, you're music. She really idolizes you, she does so much", Delta "I've actually never had someone who admired me as much as she does, so it's really lovely", "I wanted to talk to you because in a few days Avery will be discharged from the hospital, which means she'll be going back to foster care, but that won't happen if you adopt her", Delta "that's a big step. But to be honest I've had problems, you see I can't have children of my own because of the cancer I was diagnosed with as a child. I always prayed that I'll some how be granted with a miracle", "do you think that Avery could be that miracle", Delta "honestly I do think that she could be my miracle, I've wanted nothing more than to be a mother", "well this is your chance, she needs you. You could be the one that is there for her, you could be her mother. Come on you deserve it, the both of you do", Delta "it's there a process", "yeah there is, but it'll work out", Delta "do I tell her", "I think you should so you could see the look on her face", Delta goes back in the room, Delta "so Avery how would you feel if me and Matthew were to adopt you and you would be apart of our family", Avery looked up at Delta, her whole face changed, as tears started to flow down her face, Delta "I am unable to have my own children because of me being diagnosed with something as a child, but I think you'd fit right into our life, we wanna love you, and we wanna give you the life you deserve baby girl", Avery hugged her, Avery "thank you so much for everything", Delta "I love you so much sunshine", Avery "I love you too", Delta "just a few more days in this hospital and then we can take you back to our house and get you settled".

After a few hours in the hospital my beautiful baby is out of the hospital. Not gonna go into so much detail but I woke up to my fiancé crying her heart out, poor baby found out that she isn't able to conceive and have kids, my heart goes out to her, I love her so much. Baby we'll get through this together, and good news we are adopting a beautiful sweet girl.

Matthew "baby I am missing a screw", Delta "lol, it's right here baby", Matthew "thanks baby", Delta "I don't know why but I'm a slightly nervous for her arrival", Matthew "that's cute, lol", there was a knock on the door, Matthew "already, I thought she was going to be here in the next hour", Delta "Are you checking the time lol, it's been an hour already", Delta goes downstairs to the front door, Delta opened the door, Delta "hey sunshine", Avery "mommy", Delta picked her up and spun her around, Delta "thanks for dropping her off", "no problem, the papers were sent to a judge now you just have to wait for a court date", Delta "okay". Avery "Where's daddy", Delta "he's just finishing up your room", Avery "ooh can i see my room", Delta "sure", they headed upstairs, and to the room, Delta "this is our room, so we are right next to your room, you don't hesitate to come get us if you need anything", Avery "okay", they went to Avery's room, Delta "alright open up those eyes", Avery "oh my gosh. This is all mine", Matthew "yeah. We also got you a couple of gifts, we wanted today to be special for you", Avery "can I open them", Delta "of course you can sunshine", Avery opened her gifts that they got her, she loved every single thing that she had gotten from them.

So me and Matthew have some incredible news to share with you all. We are adopting the sweetest and cutest girl out there. Her name is Avery, won't be posting so many pictures of her just yet as we want her to settle in first, and just enjoy her new home. She's been through a lot so we will be documenting our lives and our journey as parents. We love her so much, this is the biggest dream come true, I've always wanted to be a mom and I can't believe it's actually happening, I'm so happy. Everyone meet Avery Lea, our girl!!
