"There is nothing else I can do, I did my best, but there is no way to convince Pete to stop his research" Kenta said at the phone as he was informing the person who stole most of the money from Tony. Pete wasn't such a fool after all, given that only someone with a power like Way's could convince Tony to give up on such a large sum in a so short amount of time. The person on the other end of the phone chuckled a little as he knew that Pete's endeavor was quite useless.
"I know you did your best, you don't have to justify yourself. We both did our job perfectly, soon he will reach the point where our traces are simply non-existent. Trust me, give him a few months, a year maximum and he will move on just like he did with you" the thief responded.
"I feel... bad though..."
"My dear Kenta, are you really telling me that you're feeling guilty now that you're helping me, but that idea never crossed your mind while you assisted Tony? I'm quite shocked that your morals are even more fucked up than mine" he interrupted Kenta. The young bodyguard didn't give up on anything according to him, so why was he complaining?
"It isn't because of that... I saw how Pete is using Tony's assets, he's doing his best to fix what Tony did, he's creating a future for those kids who were nothing more than something to sell... while you're..."
"If you're implying that I'm wasting that money on more selfish things, let me remind you that you got a lot of that money too. I'm sure that if you offer that to Pete, he will be more than willing to accept it..." he replied as he felt tears fall, thinking about what he lost on the way.
"They are just as defenseless as we were back then... how can you be so cold?" Kenta asked, wondering if he did the right thing helping him instead of telling Pete the truth.
"If you like him so much then why don't you give up on Kim and try to date Pete then!" he shouted as he clenched his fists.
"I've already moved on... you didn't though, right?"
"I'm not going to take lessons about morality from someone like you, Kenta!"
"I don't believe that you don't care at all... please, tell me that you aren't like that..." Kenta said disappointed.
"Stop it! I feel bad, ok? But don't I deserve to enjoy at least some luxury after what I lost for him and for everyone else? I didn't take that money from the children, I took it from Tony, that is all we should think about"
"How can yo-"
"Good bye Kenta, I hope you have a nice day"
