"hey chris," nick airily sighs as he takes a seat next to his brother in the cafeteria. ruben and adora also take their seats as nick has an abnormal smile on his face, and chris is visibly taken aback. before his brother is given a chance to respond, he questions him without hesitation, "wanna tell me why you walked here with jada?"
chris' face visibly turns white, and matt and nate's eyes both widen due to overhearing nick's not-so-hushed voice. "or why you're talking to her at all?" he adds seriously.
matt seems to look to chris for denial, but when his face gives it away, he sits back in his chair with an exasperated sigh. nate merely shakes his head at chris' guilt-ridden expression, muttering, "chris..."
