"You're joking, right?" Jennie questioned, pen twirling around her fingers as she leant back in her chair, eyes narrowed on the group of executives in front of her.

"Sorry?" One of them questioned, eyes darting between her and the imposing man beside her, who did not seem to question what the brunette was doing.

In the cool, sleek design of the conference room, Taehyung, the CEO of one of the largest tech companies in the world, and Jennie, the head of legal, sat across from the representatives of another tech giant.

The air was thick with anticipation as they neared the final stages of finalizing a merger deal.

Jennie, with a sharp eye, scanned the contract once more, her pen poised over the paper before she tapped it against a section.

"There's an inaccuracy in section 4B," she announced, her tone firm yet calm. "This clause overvalues your assets by 15%. We'll need to renegotiate for a more equitable deal."

The representatives exchanged uneasy glances, murmuring amongst themselves before one spoke up.

"We believe the valuation is fair and have little room for adjustments. As you know, we're handing over the entire holdings to the company." He explained, more to the silent Taehyung than Jennie.

Without missing a beat, Jennie stood, gathering her documents. "Then, I'm afraid we must consider this aquisition null. Given the recent discovery of a significant loss in your fourth-quarter earnings, our company cannot justify the current asking price."

The room fell silent, the tension palpable.

"Well, thank you." Taehyung, with a firm nod leant forward, beginning to stand up as well.

Seeing the pair begin to leave, the other representatives began to look and whisper amongst themselves, panic evident on all their features.

"Alright, let's revisit the valuation." After a long pause, the other party capitulated, the director standing up to stop them with a defeated sigh.

As the details were hammered out, one of the representatives couldn't help but commend once they stood up to leave, "Ms. Jane, your talent for milking us out of money is undeniable."

Taehyung rose, a proud smile playing on his lips for the first time that evening as he shook their hands.

"Attempting to recruit my head of legal? I can assure you, I never let go of the pillars of my company." He remarked to the representative, breaking his stoic exterior.

"We'll revisit that depending on my bonus this year." Jennie chuckled, evidently joking as they bid farewell to the representatives.

As they left the conference room, Jennie couldn't resist glancing at Taehyung with a mischievous smile.

"So, the cold-hearted CEO who's too busy for romance? That's quite the reputation you've got in the tabloids." She jokes, bringing up a tabloid that was all over the gossip section of the news recently.

Taehyung, despite being a business major who became a CEO, found himself becoming unexpectedly famous amongst the general public.

Not only because of how famous the company was, or his position to inherit one of the largest groups in the world, but also because of his die-hard fan girls that practically devoted themselves to his looks.

He was, after all, what many called a living Greek-god.

"Those tabloids focus on the most irrelevant things. I'm not even a celebrity; I'm just trying to run a company here." Taehyung sighed, rolling his eyes.
