Two days later....
In my aunt's car, heading to the city. The car is racing, I'm at the back seat with my aunty's husband sited besides me. He is holding me as I cling to him.
Car ride now seem like a terror to me because I lost my parents riding one.
Bomp! And I screamed holding my head. The gallop made me remember that day. I cried and my aunty's husband tried to pacify my little self.
I fell asleep and by the time I woke, we were already in the house. Yeah, they woke me up.
Aunty: Stephanie, she said bending over, this is your new home now. I will be your mommy from now.
I did not say a word because what do you expect the little me to say. I miss my parents so much. My little heart aches.
I nodded and we went into the house.
The house was beautiful but not like mine. There I had everything I ever wanted.
I was taken to a small room but okay for me.
Aunty: This is your home from now henceforth. You will be staying here.
Go in and change to something, I will be preparing our dinner.
I obediently nodded.
I went in and freshened up in the bathroom that's in my room. My bags are already placed where they should be by my aunty and her husband.
I was surprised that they don't have maids because we used to have one and once again, I remember mom and dad and begin to cry.
Maybe I do not fully understand what death means but I definitely know that you will never see them again and it was heart breaking.
One hour thirty minutes later...
Dinner is ready, my aunty shouted and I came to join them. The dinning room is close to the sitting room so, I saw it when I came.
The house is quite small compared to the one I lived with my parents.
I went and my aunty pointed at a chair around the table and said, 'sit'.
I did as I was told. She put food into everyone's plate. Guess what?
Maybe this is coincidental but she made my favorite. It was beautiful, the aroma reminded me of the last time I ate it.
Flashback....
Mom: Guess what darling? We are making your favorite today!
Me:(jumping in excitement) yeah!
In the kitchen...
Mom: Darling, pass me the vegetables..
Me:( stretching my hands) here is it mom.Mom and me discussing while preparing the ingredients.
Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie...
I heard my aunty calling my name and it brought me back to the present.
What's wrong? She asked holding my cheeks in her palms. Remembering mom and dad again?
I did not reply but my sobbing answered it all. I cried into her arms. This is my favorite meal but it brings back the memory of my parents.
Ten minutes later...
I was forcing myself to put the food in my mouth. I have lost my appetite. I wish mom and dad was here. My hands are shaking before you know it, I blacked out.
