We stayed like that for some moments...
Listening to her story put a smile on my face.

I had this relaxing peaceful feeling inside my soul, it was the first time since my parents died. Somehow I knew that I had found a friend.

And she became a hero and overcame all her fears.... Said the nurse as she ended the fifth story...

Thank you, I said with a smile looking into her eyes.

You are welcome darling, she said stroking my head gently.

Soon, my aunty and her husband walks into the room.

My aunty: (Surprised) Wow! Steph, you are smiling!

She looked at the nurse as if she had done some magic. Wow!

She bent down beside my bed and looked straight to her husband's face, who is also suprised.

Her husband:( standing close to my bed) You know honey, I am glad to see your smile.

The nurse walks out of the room to let us have our family time together.

We all are in the room and it becomes awkward again but not as it used to be.

My aunt: Honie, what do you like to eat? Daddy will go get it for you while I am here with you.

Me: Anything!

My though: I am not really that hungry. The feeling of peace is making me so relaxed and happy that I am less hungry.

Dad goes out to get food while I and mom stay in silence. I have not really learnt how to speak comfortably with anyone except for the nurse.

Later he ( aunty's husband) comes back with food. Rice, plantain and the rest.

I was placed on a drip, so, I couldn't use one hand. I needed the help of another to eat... My aunty started feeding me.

For the first time in months I felt pampered.

Later....

I was told that I will be spending some a week or two in the hospital. I was happy because that meant that I will get to know my angelic friend ( nurse) more
