The picture-perfect family.
No one could deny it, the Aftons were a family to envy. William and Clara Afton met when they were younger, Clara being a Utah native and William being an English immigrant. They attended high school together, and eventually college. It was then that William confessed to being in love with Clara, and they got engaged.
Soon after, in the year 1965, they were married. It was perfect. A happy couple with the happiest life.
However, that didn't make all of their problems go away. You see, Clara had chosen a nursing degree and found a steady job at their local hospital.
William, on the other hand, had chosen to pursue an engineering major and a writing minor. But there was no place in little Hurricane, Utah that needed someone with that experience.
Despite the financial struggles that followed, Clara and William were determined to be happy together. William desperately wanted to please his wife and give them more financial stability. He held off on trying for a family until he could bring in more money.
While brainstorming one day, he fell upon an idea. People loved circuses. They loved to watch the stunts and tricks of the animals, no matter what it was.
So what if he brought that to life?
Perhaps if he built a restaurant, it would bring people in. Then he could work on entertainment.
But, how would he build these animals? He had the knowledge, that was for sure. However, the supplies he had were sparse. And then to add onto that, the money Clara made from the hospital would not sustain both their family and William's passion.
Fortunately, when William was out on the town looking for a job to make the money for the project, he ran into another man with similar dreams and aspirations.
His name was Henry Emily, a man who had recently moved to Hurricane from his small town in Idaho.
Henry had some experience working with animatronics, and he explained how all the small pieces of them worked.
William couldn't believe it. Instead of just working with non-moving metal animals, Henry was giving him an opportunity to get to work making ones that would move with the robotics inside.
After a year or so of hard work, William Afton and Henry Emily proudly opened Fredbear's Family Diner. Inside the restaurant two animatronic animals sat proudly on display. With a similar color scheme, Fredbear and Bonnie were quite the pair.
Fredbear, like his name would insinuate, was a tall bear with golden-colored fur. He also sported two purple accessories: a top hat and a bowtie.
Bonnie, like his counterpart, was also a yellow-gold color and showcased a purple bowtie. But instead of being a bear, Bonnie was a bunny.
While these animatronics were revolutionary by themselves, Henry had been able to showcase yet another feat. There were small devices inside the suit pieces that clipped onto the endoskeleton called springlocks. But once these were wound back and held in place, a person could wear the suit pieces and act as if they were that character.
Fredbear's was instantly popular, and it gained a positive reputation.
Finally with other income, William and Clara were comfortable to start a family.
In 1969, Clara gave birth to their first children.
Michael and Y/N were a surprise set of twins, and they took the phrase 'double trouble' a bit too seriously. Michael, not only sharing his father's looks, shared his ambition and curiosity. Y/N's personality swung like a pendulum. There was no telling what she may do in a day.
Three years later, William and Clara had another child. And thankfully, it was just one.
Elizabeth was born in 1972, and she was the spitting image of Clara.
Evan followed in 1974 and shared his father's hair color but developed his own personality.
As the years went on, the family was as happy as could be.
But all good things must come to an end.
