As someone with autism, I was thrilled by this premise! Also, I tried to add some backstory and leave your appearance unmentioned so that anyone could read.

(Idk if I was able to properly convey the reader as autistic?? If you'd like anything changed, please tell me!)

You've been fascinated by magic since you were young, or at least younger than you are now. Whether it was playing cards, doing illusions, or simply pretending to be something you were not. Sometimes you'd go outside into the backyard and pretend to be a dog or another animal. Or you'd go to the front porch and create simple drawings of various creatures with chalk, yet you kept circling back to a herd of multicolored horses.

Those were two of your favorite animals, but you had plenty more. And if you weren't doing one of those things, you were either playing with your action figures and plastic dinosaurs or going to the girl next door's imaginary tea parties.

Today, however, is your birthday. Your special day. You turned seven today, which is the luckiest number, lucky you! And what a wonderful day it was, full of laughing and excitement. There were balloons and other themed decorations, and the cake was also in your favorite flavor.

It was just you and your mother, but that was fine; it felt extra special because of it, and you like it quieter. She felt so proud of you, even if it was merely time passing. You began to feel worn out after putting away the cake and your new gifts (mainly clothes and things such as a brand-new blanket) in your room.

You stayed up for dinner, with food which your mother knew you liked, before she sent you to bed. Tomorrow was a school day, after all! And after your mom tucked you into bed and said goodnight, you drifted into a dreamless slumber.

The next morning, you awoke with an intense light in your face. You opened your eyes, fatigued from waking up suddenly, only to realize you were not in your bedroom anymore. Your room was a light shade of your favorite color that didn't hurt your eyes, and it was filled with all kinds of knickknacks you'd collected over time.

This was an open field. A vast blue sky above you, with some scattered clouds. You blinked, and your first thought was to call your mother, but when she didn't respond (and was nowhere to be seen), you began to grow anxious. You were in an unfamiliar place, alone and unable to find your way home.

Climbing to your feet, you noticed what appeared to be a town in the distance. With nowhere else to go, you swiftly got past your fear, with curiosity driving you onward.

You were short and small, and the town was somewhat far away, therefore getting there was difficult. So when you arrived at the big bridge that headed into town, you were exhausted and hungry. Nonetheless, you did not let that deter you and continued walking.

As you passed by houses and buildings, you observed a few people peering out of their doors and windows. But...hm, perhaps they weren't people like you, but rather animals? You couldn't quite tell what they were, but they looked more like that than yourself from a brief glance.

You eventually came across a large, dark tree of unknown species, but it had a door and seemed more inviting than the other places here. As you stepped inside, you could hear two voices coming from upstairs. Not one to leave your curiosity unfulfilled, you cried out. "Hello?" You spoke, and both voices ceased.
