*** ZACK'S POV ***

I heard the door slam and voices coming from downstairs, Addison must have left with Alyx and Lola. I walked downstairs cautiously, hoping Conor wouldn't be too long, I couldn't be bothered to work today as I wouldn't even be in tomorrow anyway, because normally when Austin stays over we're up most of the night, then we get yelled at by mum in the morning, we're used to it by now though, it's normally a monthly event.

'Oh Zack!' Sammi grinned as she saw me, 'how are you?'

'I'm good' I nodded, sitting on one of the arm chairs in the living room as I waited, 'I have a friend over today, do you think Honor wont be a total bitch and let us hang out in the garage?'

'Don't say bitch' my mum gasped, 'and I have no idea, you know what Honor's like though'

I shrugged, Honor could be a total bitch when she wanted to be.

A few moments later the doorbell went and I shot up quickly, almost jogging towards the front door. I had no idea what we were gonna do but I'm sure we'd figure something out, it's not like we didn't have anything in common. All of a sudden I felt a wave of shyness come over me, and I was slightly anxious that I would be a pathetic host, the only friends I'd ever really had round before were Austin and Alyx, and they were here most of the time.

I swung the door open, Connor smiled at me shyly, I could tell he felt as nervous about this as I was. It was only then I realised how tall he actually was, he was a little bit shorter than me, and I'm tall. He quickly swept his hair before letting out a small hello.

'Hey' I smiled, allowing him to walk in. I closed the door quickly, and we both began to walk down the hall, I decided to not be polite and introduce him to my mum and Sam, they could be so embarrassing sometimes, 'so was this place easy to find?'

'Pretty much, I mean it was the only house in the neighbourhood that had loud music coming from it so I took a pretty good guess'  Connor said, as we entered the kitchen.

I nodded, going over to the fridge, 'want a drink?'

'No thanks' Connor shrugged.

I grabbed a pepsi before heading over to the counter, we both sat either side. The music stopped again and then there was the sound of a guitar solo, that would be Honor, showing off as per usual. She was a great guitar player, and made sure everyone knew it as well.

'Who's playing the guitar?' Connor asked, curious, as I knew he was a guitar player himself.

'My sister' I said, 'she's having band practice'

'Oh right, she's really good, how come you're not in a band?' he asked, leaning back slightly on his chair.

'Because I have no talents nor do I know anyone who could be in band with me' I shrugged, running a hand through my hair, 'do you wonna go watch them play? Honor might yell at us but who cares'

He nodded, 'sure'

We both hopped off of our chairs and walked into the living room, where my mum and Sammi were halfway through their bottle of wine, which would probably mean drunkness and loud singing later on. I quickly rushed passed them, hoping they wouldn't notice us, which they didn't. They were too busy gossiping about some woman they both knew who was a bit dense.

I opened the door to the back of the garage, quickly walking in and then closing the door behind Connor. We both walked over to the couches on the side, sitting down and watching as my sister gave me the evil eye. She hated it when people, especially me, Addison and our friends, came into watch. The only people she didn't actually mind was our dad and his band mates.
