Ren groggily woke up from her restless night, slammed her fist down on her alarm and started her usual morning routine, dragging herself out of bed and stumbling to the bathroom to freshen up. Meanwhile, Jotaro found himself jolting awake in a cold sweat, his bandages in tatters and his body throbbing with pain.
Rushing to the bathroom without waking Holly was difficult with how sore his body still was, the man scratching at his face as he traveled through the house. He struggled regularly to replace his dressings, relying on Star to lend a hand half the time. With the process being long and tedious, most of his morning was used before he was even dressed, making him notoriously late for class.
Ren, noticing this, paid him no mind when he entered math period near the end of the lesson. Every girl but Ren gawked at him as he walked through the room. Taking his seat gently so as to not tighten his fresh bandages proved to be difficult, but doable. Glancing to the back of the brunette head of the girl, he silently gave her credit for not paying much attention to him doing the usual, Jotaro figuring he preferred Ren's careless attitude over an obnoxious one -especially if she was planning on staying sat in front of him. He secretly scowled at her for doing such a thing, even if she was here before him, she was irritating.
Slouching comfortably in his seat, Jotaro buried his face into his shoulder and closed his arms against his chest, the English teacher now entering the classroom. Closing his tired eyes, he figured he could get a quick nap before lunch.

The first half of the day resumed like normal, taking a turn for the worst around lunchtime. Ren sat under her regular tree, studying as the rest of the school gathered around the field. Setting her eyes on Jotaro as he found his way to his corner, Ren observed the boy being followed by a group of three guys not too far behind, clearly looking for a fight. Ren, figuring he had it under control, turned to watch as Yuma played a sad game of baseball by the gates to the school. Knowing he was a sore loser, Ren got excited as a small crowd gathered to watch, observing as his poor baseball skills overthrew his ego.
Ren suddenly getting this sinking feeling in her stomach, like her intestines suddenly fell out, quickly scanned the courtyard. Confused as to why her body was panicking the way it was, she looked around at innocent groups of students before her eyes landed on the group of boys leaving Jotaro's secluded alley, standing proud and laughing about with barely a scratch on them. Ignoring her lunch, she swiftly collected her belongings and made her way to investigate, careful not to draw attention to herself, brown hair in a mix everywhere.
Ren, turning the corner in a panic, stopped to see a purple figure standing above the boy -only getting a glimpse before it suddenly vanished- and Jotaro sprawled out on the concrete, his injuries severe and bloodied. Jojo grunted to himself as he held his stomach, his face scrunched painfully together.
Ren stood motionlessly, a mix of thoughts going through her head as she watched him with wide green eyes. For a moment, she almost considered leaving him due to their past interactions but decided against it at the sight of him squirming from the pain. Without saying a word, she rushed over to him and pulled the flaps of his jacket away, examining how bad the damage was. Seeing only small splotches of red was a good sign, Ren covering him back up while she scanned his face. 'There's only one reason he'd be in this much pain with injuries this small...' Ren thought to herself, frowning at the possibility of him really being in pain all those times she suspected.
"Can you walk?" Ren asked, Jotaro mumbling quiet curses to himself, refusing to look at the girl. Ren, taking his free hand in hers, gestured for him to get up. Jotaro complied, letting the girl pull him up, even if her strength was easily outmatched by his weight. As soon as he was on his feet, he pushed her away and caught his balance. Holding his stomach, Jotaro tried to calm his labored breaths, Ren standing awkwardly behind him. Limping over to the nearest thing he could grab, he almost fell over before manifesting Star Platinum to assist, stunning Ren as the purple figure helped him catch his balance. Just as it was there, it was gone. Brushing her hair behind her ears, she knew she needed to know more about her mysterious gray arm some way or another.
