The Frost fruit from the legends had a special quality. It grows only once in a decade, stays there and after that, it automatically falls to the ground and disappears then a new frost fruit takes its place.

Many in the distant past had taken frost fruit. But as soon as it touched the ground it disappeared.

That's why when Alicia saw the frost fruit was about to fall on the ground and disappear then she didn't care to keep her magic hidden.

She quickly used gravity magic and the fruit floated in the air. Slowly, she attracted it toward her. Only after the fruit reached her, she sighed in relief.

Turning her attention to the man in front of her, she saw his mouth wide agape with shock.

Of course, he would be surprised.

Mages are already rare in the empire but gravity magic is said to have disappeared 500 years ago. Gravity magic is said to be the most powerful of all as one can fly and teleport with the help of that. Who would have thought Alicia, the wildflower of high society would be able to wield it?

"Alicia...di-did you jus-t use gravity magic?" He stuttered as he was unable to form words after seeing the scene in front of him.

"Yes, so what."  Alicia said with her usual 'don't care' attitude. As if possessing powerful magic which can even make her the head of the magic tower is no big deal at all.

She gazed at the fruit in her hand.
"Now after going through all this trouble for him, if he doesn't want it. He isn't worthy of it. What should I do with it? Fine. I will eat it." Alicia mumbled and took a bite of it quickly.

"Are you a gravity mage?" He asked as he watched her eat. His knuckles turned white as he saw a silver glow emanating from her as she was eating.

She completed eating and answered,
"Yes, I am. But if you dare to tell this to anybody."
She came near Lucian's ear and whispered in a low voice, "Who knows I might just teleport you somewhere on an isolated island from where you can never get back?"

Alicia would normally never say such words to Lucian but now after seeing how he disrespected her hard work, her well wishes and ultimately her heart she had decided to give up on him completely. She didn't wish to stay with him any longer.

Just because he saved her from drowning once in their childhood. She an avid reader of fairy tales believed him to be her prince charming.

But if he does not share the same feeling she shouldn't burden him with hers.

"As payment for staying silent, I will ask my father to break off the ongoing engagement talks with your family. Thank me later." She was about to move past him when he held her wrist and pinned her against the wall.

"Who told you to do that?" He growled, seething in anger.

"Don't you hate me?" Alicia asked with furrowed eyebrows. It was evident from how he treated her. He never once smiled at her. Even when he saved her it was out of responsibility as she was with him at that time.

"I do." He answered quickly.

"Then why do you want to keep the engagement?"

"I don't think it's necessary for you to know."

"How it's not when I am the one who is getting engaged to you? I don't have any ounce of affection left for you after this rude behaviour. I don't want to see your face again. " She pushed him and he stumbled on the floor at her newfound abundant strength.

She moved past him, in her usual haughty attitude as she muttered under her breath, "If father doesn't agree to breaking off this engagement,  I'm gonna run away tonight."

_____

As she expected, her father refused to break off the engagement and also tightened the security around the mansion as he had a hunch she would try to run away.

"Why does my life have to be like this?" Alicia was confessing her woes to the moon in the sky as she stood near her room's balcony, resting her elbows on the railing.

"I want freedom. I want to marry someone whom I love and who loves me back.  Not for mining rights and everything else but love. I want to live like a normal lady. Maybe as a commoner. That way I don't have to worry about these things. What am I talking about?" Alicia yawned. " I must have had too much to drink at the party."

Alicia fell asleep soundly on the balcony.

And a fairy came near her and watched over her in her sleep.

"Two peoples' wishes have coincided. I don't think it will be a problem if I fulfil their wish now."  She put her hand on Alicia's head and closed her eyes.

As she muttered the spells, Alice and Alicia's soul got exchanged.

She smiled after she completed it.

"Now have a happy life you too. I will be watching you from afar."

The fairy said and disappeared as a shooting star.
