Captain Laserhawk - Lost Stories

Past

It had been a few hours after Zero and Valmet captured Zero and the Warden of Supermaxx. They sedated them and brought them to the VR Facility. Zero then uses his technopathy to disable the bomb and remove a virus that the Warden put in him. He also disables the Warden's cybernetics so that she'd be crippled should she ever try something. Zero and Valmet put Laserhawk and the Warden into VR pods and Marcus creates a simulation of them still on the way to the Supermaxx.

Marcus: They believe they've got a long drive. You two really pulled it off. Sadly, one Hybrid decided to stay behind to buy the others time to escape.

Marcus pulls up a hologram displaying the news of Bullfrog being arrested.

Marcus: Still, you two stopped a lot of lives from being lost. Did everything I asked you to do. now it's time I upheld my end of the bargain.

Marcus begins typing and gives the two identities for outside of Eden.

Marcus: One you leave Eden, you're free. Sorry if I seemed unreasonable. I just had to be sure if you both truly wanted to escape.

Zero: Did something happen in the past?

Marcus: Yeah. She happened.

Marcus points to the Warden.

Valmet: The Warden of Supermaxx?

Marcus: Or as I call her, Sarah Fisher.

Zero: Fisher? Like Same Fisher.

Valmet: Eden's public enemy number two before Laserhawk?

Marcus: Yep. He's her father. A bonafide american hero back when there was still a country. Of course when he refused to accept Eden's rule, he and Sarah were dumped into the wasteland. Of course when Sam got some intel on me and DedSec, he came for help. I cleared their profiles so they could cross the border without any problems. But it turns out Sarah had enough of going against the regime and betrayed us in favor of Eden. Me and the rest of DedSec was arrested and sentence to life imprisonment in the VR Facility. We were forced to play a shitty game where we controlled the taxi cars nonestop. I won't get to much into it but it was hell. But Sam escaped his probation and risked his life to help me escape. But i couldn't leave DedSec, so Fisher and I decided to plot a mass prison break.

Valmet: What was the most dangerous jailbreak in Eden's history soon became--

Zero: The Wasteland Uprising.

Marcus: Once the VR Facility was ours, I broadcasted my message all over Eden. Of course the Board of Directors couldn't allow that and approved of a missile strike and essentially a fucking purge of the whole wasteland. Sam died in chaos. And I repurposed the facility to have everyone live in what they deeply desire.

Zero: No offense Marcus, but--

Valmet: That seems like a complete shell of what everyone wanted.

Marcus: You both may very well be right. But it's better than living in Eden's world.

Zero: I guess.

Valmet: But we'll be leaving and spending a good part of our lives on a tropical island.

Marcus: I know. But tell me Zero, what d you remember of your past?

Zero: ...Everyday it was needles and drawing blood. Or seeing how much voltage i could handle. Then I was forced to kill someone who was brought in to see if I had the will to survive. Those psycho seemed to love the idea of beating a kid.

Marcus: I think I saw that. Or rather, there were reports of Eden special soldiers ending up MIA. There were reports of... disturbing mental states in their psychological evaluations. I think the world was much better without them.

Zero: I did nothing and they treated me like I wasn't human. And a year ago, I snapped and killed everyone who made my existence hell. I then met Valmet soon after. Since then I Vowed to protect her no matter what,

Valmet playfully shoves Zero.

Valmet: I said before I could take care of myself. You just look after your safety.

Marcus: You two are a match made in Heaven. Alright, There's a boat on the coastline of MegaCity 2. it's your best chance of getting out of this shithole. I'd suggest you drive fast before Eden's army arrives. God speed you two. 

Valmet: Likewise. Take care Holloway.

Zero: Bye Marcus.

Zero and Valmet exit the facility and get in their car before they drive away. It takes them a bit, but they manage to make it to MegaCity 2. As they were nearing what used to be considered the West Coast, they see several ruined buildings that were clearly from before Eden took over.

Zero: When everything went to hell, Eden rose and started making promises to everyone.

Valmet: And look what is caused us to become: Slaves. But we're leaving all that behind now.

Valmet then holds Zero's hand.

Valmet: It's just you and me.

Zero: Forever.

Zero and Valmet reach a sealed up dock and enter to see a boat that was in pristine condition. Probably something that was smuggled. But too bad for the ones who brought it here, because they're taking it. Zero opens the gates and Valmet starts up the boat before the drive it out of the tunnels and into the sea. They keep driving before they look back and see the walls of Eden getting father and father away from them.

Valmet: It's actually happening.

Zero: We're free.

Zero and Valmet look into each others eyes before sharing a long and passionate kiss. Soon they break off and Zero speeds up the boat to begin his and Valmet's new lives.
