The Arrangement

Ever since Tae knew the meaning of love – he knew his love was meant for only one person. His best friend, his soul mate, his Jimin.

The Parks, the Jeons and the Kim's were all involved in politics since ages. Jimin's father was the minister of the state but when his plane crashed the opportunity presented to Jimin.

Tae was on cloud nine. His love was going to be the minister now. He knew Jimin wasn't a fan of politics or even power but he had blind faith in his soulmate.

He also knew that his dad was spending a lot of time with Jimin and his uncles. Somewhere in his heart he could tell that they were talking about their marriage. If Jimin wanted to come in power, he needed money, he needed funds and who could better splurge money than the Kims. Tae's father was known to support all the political parties financially.

Finally, everything was falling in place. Jimin had been always confused about his feelings toward Tae but now Tae knew that he could not escape Tae ever.

The Jeons also had formed an alliance with the Parks and together they had decided to run the state. Senior Jeon had no interest in becoming a minister this late. But he had dreams for his son – Jeon Jungkook who had just returned from UK after his higher education.

Tae ran to Jimin who was standing with Mr. Kim and hugged him tight in front of his father.

"Tae Tae?" Jimin laughed and saw Tae pouting, "What's wrong?"

Tae complained as his father went away to pick up a call, "I was calling you yesterday. Why didn't you pick up your phone?"

Jimin sighed, "Sorry – was busy. In fact, I went to see Jungkook. You remember him?"

Frowning, Tae shook his head, "Jung – who? No! Forget these unimportant people. Tell me – when are you sitting on the throne?"

Jimin smiled warmly and looked at Mr. Kim, "Your father will make announcements. Then we will go to media."

Nodding his head, Tae grabbed Jimin's wrist who was moving away from him, "Chim – I – I wanna say something to you."

Smiling, Jimin caressed his cheek, "Babe – later. We need to go. Oh – see – Jungkook is here."

Whining, Tae rolled his eyes and moved towards the door ignoring Jimin and everyone around him.

Tae sat beside his father and looked up at Mr. Jeon who was smiling at him. He knew Mr. Jeon who would very often visit his father. Smiling, he looked down and felt someone's eyes on him.

It was that strange boy from UK.

Mr. Kim signaled Jimin to speak who cleared his throat and began, "After much consideration and discussions we all have come up with a name – a candidate for the next elections. I hope you all present here will accept this decision."

Jimin's eyes were on their party members and Tae's only on Jimin. He was so proud of his love.

Smiling, Jimin declared, "So – the next candidate for the coming elections will be Jeon Jungkook."

Tae's face fell and he yelped, "Chim? What the hell?"

Mr. Kim held his son's hand and squeezed it to make him stop.

Jimin smiled at Tae, "Its my decision. I don't want to be a part of this politics. I hope you all will respect my decision."

Tae's heart broke. His dreams shattered. If Jimin wasn't gonna be the next minister which means that Mr. Kim wouldn't even think of marrying Tae to him.

With tears in his eyes, he looked up and again felt someone staring at him. He turned his face around and saw Jungkook looking at him with concern. Frustrated with the new boy, he looked down and wiped his tears.

"There is another announcement as well," Mr. Kim cleared his throat, "Since the Jeons are standing for the election. I have decided to fund them and support them in the elections. We are bonding not just with politics but with other relations too. I – I am happy to propose that Jungkook and Taehyung will be wed before the elections."

Jungkook couldn't hide that blush and smile. But Tae was now crying with tears streaming down crazily.

"Aappppaaaa!" Tae was on his feet, "What is this? You – you didn't even tell me."

Smiling, Mr. Kim asked him to sit, "We will discuss later."

Tae wiped his tears and shot an angry look at Jungkook, "No – I don't wanna marry him. Who is he? I don't even know him."

That hurt Jungkook the most. Not the rejection but the denial. Tae, Jimin and Jungkook were in college together for 3 years and not once Tae noticed Jungkook. All his 3 years in college, he just chased Jimin everywhere.

Mr. Kim glanced at Jimin who nodded his head and decided to put some sense in his friend's head.

"Tae – let's go. We will talk privately," Jimin held Tae's hand and the heartbroken boy instantly hugged Jimin and kept crying.

That's when Jungkook realized – the boy he was in love with for so long was already in love with someone else.
